As a Principal Engineer, you'll architect and implement security features for storage products, focusing on cryptography and cybersecurity across development lifecycles.

Develops and validates mechanical and thermal solutions for SSD hardware throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include mechanical design, thermal analysis, architecture support, design analysis, laboratory testing, engineering documentation, and cross-functional collaboration with electrical, packaging, reliability, manufacturing, and product engineering teams. Support customer joint qualification, reproduce field issues, expand test coverage, and develop Python-based automation. Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams while mentoring engineers and improving product readiness and testability.

Evaluates and qualifies SSD products through comprehensive testing, debugging, and data analysis. Develops qualification plans, executes system- and drive-level tests, analyzes results, improves test and debugging tools, and collaborates with global engineering teams to resolve failures and enhance processes. Requires electrical, electronics, or computer engineering education, embedded systems experience, programming skills, and hands-on use of electrical debugging equipment.

Build and validate data-center performance and power models for SSD and DRAM products. Develop modeling, simulation, and analysis tools using Python, C, or C++; test server platforms; measure throughput, latency, bandwidth, endurance, and power; analyze AI and data-intensive workloads; and communicate technical recommendations to architects, product engineers, and system designers.

Direct SSD and next-generation system qualification through test planning, validation, certification, debugging, and data analysis. Develop and improve test automation and debug tools, perform system- and drive-level testing with electrical measurement equipment, resolve failures, and collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure product requirements, quality, compliance, and performance standards are met.

Conducts performance studies of AI, database, virtualization, and distributed-storage workloads on production systems. Traces application I/O to SSDs, measures latency, efficiency, scalability, consistency, and power, and identifies system bottlenecks. Tests SSD features, architectures, and competing solutions while providing data-backed recommendations. Develops automation and analysis tools, including AI-assisted workflows, and communicates findings through engineering reports, presentations, and customer-facing technical materials.

Supports customer qualification and adoption of Micron Cloud and Data Center SSDs by investigating technical issues, coordinating cross-functional debugging, tracking qualification progress, communicating updates, analyzing field issues, and identifying product improvements. Provides technical expertise on SSD features, firmware, documentation, and storage technologies while using AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity and customer support.

Leads system-level validation, integration, and joint qualification of enterprise and datacenter NVMe SSDs. Responsibilities include developing validation strategies and test plans, performing system bring-up and debugging across hardware, firmware, drivers, operating systems, and platforms, conducting failure analysis, supporting customer issue reproduction, and improving automated Python-based testing and AI-enabled validation workflows. The role coordinates cross-functional engineering teams, mentors engineers, supports customer readiness, and applies AI-enabled tools for engineering productivity and continuous improvement.

Lead Micron’s enterprise EU Cyber Resilience Act compliance strategy and roadmap. Manage cross-functional programs spanning cybersecurity, engineering, product compliance, quality, and legal. Translate regulations into business and technical requirements, establish governance and reporting, conduct gap assessments, drive remediation, and support audits and regulatory readiness. Monitor evolving regulations and standards, advise leadership, collaborate with customers and regulators, and improve processes through automation and approved AI solutions.

Leads SSD system design and architecture from concept through high-volume manufacturing. Defines system requirements, drives architecture reviews, resolves complex firmware-hardware issues, and develops characterization strategies for performance, power, thermal behavior, and reliability. Provides technical leadership across global engineering teams, mentors engineers, influences product roadmaps, and advances quality, manufacturability, validation, and customer readiness through data-driven debugging and AI-enabled improvements.

Lead validation strategy and architect scalable test frameworks for enterprise SSD firmware (NVMe front-end features). Drive AI/ML solutions for test optimization, own test infrastructure and CI/CD, perform root-cause analysis, mentor engineers, and influence firmware architecture and compliance across simulation, FPGA, and prototype hardware environments.

Own technical requirements and customer-driven product definition for Micron data center SSDs. Collaborate with engineering, customers, and cross-functional teams to evaluate specifications, competitive gaps, technical trade-offs, market trends, and product features. Present in design and technical reviews, support OEM and hyperscale engagements, resolve customer issues, maintain lifecycle-management data, and lead small technical projects. Apply AI tools to improve requirements analysis and documentation. The role requires storage or semiconductor experience and strong customer-facing technical communication.

Owns customer quality as Micron’s Voice of the Customer for SSD products. Tracks quality metrics, reliability issues, scorecards, warranties, and field failures; collaborates with customers, SQE teams, sales, applications engineering, manufacturing, and internal engineering teams. Leads root-cause investigations, improvement initiatives, customer reviews, and quality reporting while using AI and advanced analytics to identify trends and improve product quality.

Support the design, validation, characterization, and debugging of next-generation SSD hardware. Responsibilities include schematic reviews, PCB development, board bring-up, electrical measurements, laboratory testing, signal and power integrity analysis, and validation data analysis. The intern will also develop automation scripts, dashboards, and AI-assisted workflows to improve engineering productivity while collaborating with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams.

Lead SSD hardware development across the product lifecycle: architecture, high-speed SI/PI analysis, PCB/schematic design, lab validation and debugging, manufacturing readiness, cross-functional integration, and mentorship. Apply AI-enabled tools to accelerate validation, automation, and debugging workflows.

The manager will lead the NVMQRA team, ensuring product quality and reliability of non-volatile memory products through testing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
