The Global Senior Director, Total Rewards is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving the company’s global total rewards strategy. This role oversees compensation, benefits, payroll, recognition, and related rewards programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, scalable, compliant, and aligned with business strategy and culture.
The Global Senior Director, Total Rewards partners closely with Executive Leadership, Finance, Legal, HR Business Partners, and regional People leaders to deliver high-impact programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent across the enterprise.
What You'll Do:
Total Rewards Strategy & Governance
· Develop and execute a global total rewards strategy aligned to business priorities, growth plans, and talent needs.
· Establish a consistent philosophy for pay, benefits, and rewards that supports a high-performance culture and internal equity.
· Lead governance, policies, and processes to ensure consistency and clear decision-making across geographies.
· Serve as the executive advisor to senior leaders on total rewards, labor market trends, program design, and cost implications.
Compensation & Incentives
· Own the global compensation framework including job architecture, salary structures, market benchmarking, and pay equity.
· Lead annual compensation planning cycles (merit, promotions, bonus, equity/long-term incentives).
· Design and manage executive compensation programs in partnership with the CHRO, CEO, and Compensation Committee (as applicable).
· Ensure programs are competitive, compliant, and transparent with appropriate controls
Payroll & Benefits (Global)
· Provide executive oversight for payroll strategy and operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery across regions.
· Ensure payroll compliance, audit controls, and alignment with HRIS systems, finance processes, and statutory requirements.
· Oversee design and administration of global benefits including health & welfare, retirement, leave programs, wellness, and EAP.
· Drive a consistent employee experience while ensuring local market relevance and regulatory compliance.
· Partner with brokers, vendors, and regional leaders to optimize plan design and cost management.
· Lead annual renewals, vendor performance management, and continuous improvement.
Recognition, Wellbeing & Programs
· Build or enhance global recognition and reward programs that reinforce values and performance.
· Evaluate and introduce modern wellbeing initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and retention.
· Drive communications strategies that improve understanding and utilization of total rewards offerings.
People, Operations & Systems
· Lead and develop a high-performing total rewards organization (Comp, Benefits, Payroll, Analytics).
· Build scalable processes and use data/analytics to inform program effectiveness and decision-making.
· Own total rewards-related HR systems and integrations
· Create strong controls and compliance standards for audits, governance, and risk management.
Financial & Risk Management
· Own global total rewards budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization while maintaining competitive programs.
· Build business cases for investments in benefits, pay programs, or incentives.
· Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with laws affecting compensation, benefits, and payroll across regions.
· Lead vendor strategy and negotiations to improve value and service delivery.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with deep expertise in total rewards.
- Demonstrated leadership in compensation, benefits, and payroll, ideally in global/multi-country environments.
- Proven ability to develop and implement a global rewards strategy tied to business outcomes.
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, vendor negotiations.
- Experience partnering with executive teams and influencing at the C-suite and Board level.
- Deep understanding of compliance, regulations, and governance across reward programs.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and change-management skills.

- Experience in high-growth, matrixed, or multi-entity organizations.
- Familiarity with job architecture frameworks and pay equity analysis.
- Experience leading through HR transformation or HRIS modernization.
- Global mobility program experience.
The expected base salary for this position is $215,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for additional incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
