The Senior Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) for datacenter deployment within NVIDIA’s Customer Program Management organization is a strategic leadership role. This role is responsible for establishing governance, standardizing methodologies, and overseeing the end-to-end execution of all related customer and datacenter deployment programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer commitments. The core function is to build and lead a high-performing PMO team. And to establish and maintain best-in-class project management methodologies, standards, and tools across the Customer Program Management organization.
This leader manages a portfolio of sophisticated, high-value projects, driving consistent and efficient delivery through effective resource allocation and cross-functional collaboration with matrixed engineering, operations, supply chain, customer program management, and onsite datacenter support teams, while ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, on budget, and to required quality standards using internal teams and external vendors. The Senior Director serves as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, providing executive-level reporting on project performance, risks, and overall financial health.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing distributed team of project and program managers, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Develop, implement, and govern project management processes, tools, templates, policies, and metrics to ensure consistency and efficiency across all customer and datacenter deployment programs.
Oversee the entire project portfolio, prioritizing initiatives, managing dependencies, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and long-term datacenter deployment roadmaps.
Ensure all datacenter and customer projects (from inception through design‑in, deployment, commissioning, and post‑production support) adhere to established timelines, scope, budgetary constraints, quality, and safety standards.
Optimize resource allocation across the portfolio, balancing PMO and cross‑functional capacity against strategic priorities and customer commitments. Work closely with internal and external matrixed teams—including contractors and systems integrators—that support datacenter deployment and lifecycle operations.
Serve as the primary interface for executives, customers, partners, and vendors, coordinating cross‑functional teams to resolve issues quickly and ensuring third‑party SOWs and deliverables provide high‑quality, cost‑efficient support for NVIDIA datacenter and cloud deployments.
Proactively identify project and portfolio-level risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement quality assurance processes to minimize disruptions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Change management and tooling: Drive organizational change initiatives related to PMO process, tooling, and data adoption, ensuring proper documentation, communication, and training for teams and stakeholders.
What We Need to See:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience); a Master’s degree (MBA or technical) is highly desired.
15+ years of progressive project/program management leadership, with at least 5 years running large‑scale datacenter, cloud infrastructure, or complex hardware/software deployment programs.
Proven experience building and leading a Program or Project Management Office or a similar portfolio governance function in a high‑tech environment.
Demonstrated success working in a matrix leadership environment, coordinating resources across multiple business units, geographies, and partner organizations.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority across engineering, operations, and customer‑facing teams.
Strong business sense and critical thinking to align the portfolio with NVIDIA’s AI and datacenter strategy and demonstrate measurable value to customers and the company.
Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills, with a strong focus on risk management and issue resolution in a highly dynamic environment.
Adaptability and resilience to handle changing priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑growth technology company.
Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd:
Professional certifications such as PMP or PgMP are highly desired; PfMP or equivalent portfolio‑management certification is a strong plus.
Expert knowledge of project, program, and change management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and proficiency with PMO tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Planview, and executive dashboarding platforms.
Familiarity with datacenter technologies, cloud platforms, and large‑scale infrastructure deployments is preferred.
Prior exposure to customer‑facing or OEM/joint development programs is strongly preferred.
