SAIC is seeking a Senior Director responsible for the successful delivery of multiple complex, high-visibility programs to SAIC customers. This role directs and controls the sub-account activities through program managers and other functional representatives (e.g., project control, contracts) for a broad area of SAIC services for customer missions. The Senior Director is responsible for sub-account profit and loss (P&L) and oversees all aspects of program execution—cost, schedule, technical, and risk—and may also manage key projects or tasks within a broader portfolio under the direction of a Vice President of Accounts. The Senior Director helps define or contribute to the program baselines and oversees execution of programs to meet or exceed baseline requirements, while managing risk, customer relationships, and program staffing. This role is critical to ensuring contract compliance, quality performance, and the growth of SAIC’s business within the account. It involves close collaboration with senior leadership, program staff, subcontractors, and customers, as well as active participation in business development and capture efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Program Execution and Business Development: Oversee end-to-end program execution for assigned programs, integrating multiple projects and tasks to deliver on cost, schedule, technical, and risk objectives. Establish and manage the program baseline; identify and analyze variances; direct corrective actions; ensure compliance with contract requirements, regulatory obligations, and SAIC quality standards. Develop or significantly contribute to strategic business development and re-compete capture plans; identify new buying agents and opportunities; map and influence key decision-makers and buying influences within customer organizations; recommend investment areas and resources that enable repeatable, differentiated offerings and account growth.
• Team Leadership and Performance Management: Manage and integrate a large, cross-functional program staff that may include task/project leads, subcontractors and suppliers. Provide senior leadership, coaching, and mentoring to program managers and team members; set clear priorities and expectations; partner with management, Human Resources, and other key functionals to offer significant input on personnel development, performance reviews, compensation-related actions, and resolution of complex personnel issues ensuring alignment with SAIC policies and values.
• Customer Engagement: Serve as key senior leadership interface to customers and senior stakeholders for all sub-account program matters, building strong, trust-based relationships and resolving complex conflicts and disputes in coordination with SAIC leadership. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement, clear communication, and reliable delivery.
• Technical Leadership and Risk Management: Oversee complex technical efforts requiring systems and software engineering, systems integration, and advanced program planning (e.g., prototyping, trade studies, risk mitigation). Implement robust risk and issue management processes; proactively escalate critical challenges to SAIC leadership with clear mitigation strategies to protect performance and customer outcomes.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Graduate degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 18 years of related experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Proven experience managing large, complex programs or portfolios in a government or commercial environment.
• Demonstrated success delivering against technical, schedule, cost, and financial objectives.
• Experience with systems & software engineering, systems integration, or complex technical solution delivery.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing diverse program teams, including subcontractors and cross-functional leads.
• Background in business development, capture, or account growth activities is highly desirable.
