The Role
 

As a Senior Director, Paid Social, you will be a key member of our department and agency leadership team, providing executive oversight for a group of Directors and Associate Directors while helping shape the strategic direction of Wpromote's paid social discipline. You'll focus on building simultaneous growth across your leadership group, your collective client portfolio, and the agency as a whole,  and play a central role in Wpromote's evolution toward an integrated paid media team where paid social, paid search, creative, analytics, and programmatic operate as one connected growth engine.

This role is dynamic and requires extreme ownership, autonomous decision-making, executive presence, and thoughtful, collaborative strategic planning to ensure the team and company are positioned for the future,  including scaling full-funnel measurement, AI-enabled workflows, and platform partnerships across your group. You'll have a voice in all day-to-day operations and the strategic direction of our team.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $142,000 - $160,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.

This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.

You Will Be

  • Managing a team of 2–5 Director and Associate Director level leaders, with primary responsibility for client retention and growth within your group, profitable management of your group's resources and P&L, and contributing to the company's overall OKRs and vision roadmap
  • Overseeing multiple key client accounts, providing executive leadership, business strategy, and leading innovation conversations across your group's book of business
  • Championing full-funnel measurement modernization (incrementality testing, MMM, and platform partner adoption) and AI-assisted workflows across your group to keep Wpromote's paid social offering ahead of the industry
  • Providing annual performance reviews, in-depth monthly check-ins, and customized professional development plans for your direct reports
  • Maintaining the ability to train and coach Directors, Associate Directors, and account teams on paid social fundamentals — media planning, campaign building and optimization, reporting, platform nuances, and data processing and analysis
  • Coaching direct reports on foundational leadership skills, including clear communication, expectation setting, rapport building, active listening, and conflict de-escalation
  • Continuously refining and updating the training process and materials for new hires, with an eye toward scalable, AI-enabled onboarding
  • Maintaining sufficient knowledge of core digital marketing channels, including paid search, SEO, content marketing, email marketing, and programmatic, to help lead Wpromote's move toward a truly integrated paid media practice
  • Assisting the sales team on audits, decks, and pitches for prospective clients
  • Improving business processes and workflows to better enable collaboration and efficiency between account teams, clients, and business units such as accounting or marketing
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Paid Social and other upper executives on key client service pillars: same-store growth, retention, new business, and partnerships
  • Identifying critical client or account issues and proactively problem-solving and/or escalating them to appropriate executives in a timely manner
  • Anticipating the needs of the Head of Social and C-Suite to provide concise, actionable information on account opportunities, obstacles, and your direct reports
  • Strengthening strategic partnerships with key social platforms, identifying opportunities to expand platform adoption, influence Joint Business Partnerships (JBPs), and leverage alpha, beta, and emerging product opportunities to drive innovation and client growth
  • Leading social-related discussions and participating in internal or public speaking opportunities as a paid social thought leader

You Must Have

  • 9+ years of experience working in paid media advertising, comprising media planning/buying in paid social for high-growth ecosystems within an agency environment
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of prior staff management experience, with career development and mentoring experience
  • A positive attitude and strong coaching/leadership skills
  • Both performance marketing and brand marketing/planning experience required
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches, strategic audits, or account growth planning
  • Strong fluency with measurement approaches such as incrementality testing, MMM, and server-side/CAPI integrations, or experience overseeing teams that operationalize them
  • Experienced with data analytical tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
  • Working knowledge of the platform partner ecosystem (e.g., Meta Business Partners) and broader ad tech landscape
  • Expert working experience in Google Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and Asana
  • Strong experience building and articulating full-funnel, growth marketing initiatives for a diverse range of clients and verticals (ecommerce/retail and lead gen preferred)
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Smartly, Sprinklr, or other AI-enabled advertising, automation, reporting, QA, or ad operations tools
  • Track record designing or operationalizing AI-assisted workflows, automation, or tooling that materially improved efficiency or quality
  • Advanced analytical skills (SQL or comparable analytics proficiency, comfort with BI/dashboards)
