The Details:
- Location: Remote, but living outside of Chicago, IL is a HUGE PLUS
- Shift: Regular Business Hours
- Pay: $160K - $170K annually (eligible for an annual bonus as well)
What You’ll Do:
As our Senior Director of Finance, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s financial vision. You’ll partner with executive leadership to drive strategic growth, optimize operations, and ensure financial excellence across the organization. This is a high-impact role for a leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and team development.
Strategic Partnership
- Collaborate closely with the CFO and executive leadership to define and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Develop and execute financing strategies to support corporate growth, acquisitions, and capital project.
- Translate financial data into actionable recommendations for business units.
- Prepare and present financial reports and strategic recommendations to the board and senior leadership.
- Oversee all finance operations including accounting, FP&A, and operational finance.
- Review monthly activities with Mexico and other foreign offices as appropriate for accuracy of financial reporting and funding of activities
Operational & Financial Management
- Oversee all core finance functions, including accounting, FP&A, and operational finance.
- Maintain and manage the monthly close process, reporting calendar, and internal review procedures.
- Produce accurate, timely financial statements and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance with reporting standards, and effective risk management.
- Coordinate all external audit activities as the primary point of contact.
Team Development & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Build strategic thinking and business acumen within the finance function.
Systems Optimization & Process Improvement
- Leverage ERP and payroll platforms (SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Paylocity) to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making through improved analytics and financial tools.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a strategic thinker and hands-on leader with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- CPA highly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles such as Controller or equivalent. MSP experience is a plus!
- Deep expertise in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting principles, and operational finance.
- Experience scaling finance functions in high-growth environments.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (ERP, payroll, reporting platforms).
- Strong understanding of compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Living outside of Chicago, IL would be a huge plus! You could meet with the executive team easily!
