WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We are a remote first company. This role, as most of our positions, is remote. You may be required at times to visit client sites or attend meetings at designated locations.


POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Senior Digital Onboarding and Lending Specialist at Nymbus, you will play a key role in the customer lifecycle by overseeing, executing, and enhancing both consumer and commercial digital account and lending workflows across our client financial institutions. This includes not only account onboarding but also loan origination and document review for a wide range of consumer and business lending products.

You will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for onboarding and lending operations, ensuring that applications and loan requests are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards, client-specific requirements, and internal fraud prevention protocols. Working across multiple platforms—including onboarding solutions, loan origination systems (LOS), core banking systems, and third-party verification tools—you will lead complex case reviews, identify and resolve workflow gaps, and mentor junior team members.

This role requires advanced knowledge of KYC/CIP processes, lending regulations, and fraud detection, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients to drive operational excellence.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Review consumer and business account applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Validate identities and business details using third-party verification tools (e.g., Socure) and resolve complex watchlist hits or documentation mismatches.
  • For commercial onboarding, verify business documentation such as articles of incorporation, EINs, and beneficial ownership structures.
  • Collaborate with the Fraud team on high-risk or suspicious cases and apply appropriate restrictions or monitoring.
  • Process account modifications, product add-ons, and name changes, ensuring accurate updates across all platforms.
  • Review and process consumer and commercial loan applications from submission through funding.
  • Verify applicant information, supporting documentation, and creditworthiness according to client lending policies. 
  • Ensure accurate preparation and documentation for all loan closings, adhering to client standards.
  • Maintain organized and compliant loan files, including required checklists.
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud or irregularities in loan applications.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for both onboarding and lending workflows.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews, audits, and compliance requests.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support testing and feedback for new onboarding and lending features or system enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years in banking, fintech, or financial services with direct experience in both onboarding and lending workflows.
  • Working knowledge of LoanPro or other loan origination systems (LOS), core banking platforms, and digital banking environments.
  • Understand automated underwriting tools, processing, and factors in credit policies and documentation attributable to different loan types
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced experience with KYC/CIP, AML, and lending compliance requirements.
  • Strong background in reviewing documentation for both deposit and lending products.
  • Previous experience performing QA or QC functions in financial institutions related to financial products - deposit accounts inclusive of checking, savings, and CDs, as well as loan products, preferable
  • Detail oriented and can recognize the warning signs of high-risk applications
  • Maintains an advanced knowledge of laws, regulations, best practices and regulatory guidance related to the loan products, deposit products and services offered by Nymbus on behalf of client financial institutions and fintech partners.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Google and comfortable working across multiple systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

HOURS:

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
  • Flexibility for extended hours or weekend coverage as required by client or project needs.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • $65,000 - $75,000 Annual Salary 
  • Annual Cash Bonus and Equity Options commensurate with the role level and experience
  • 100% Fully Remote
