Responsibilities

CBIZ Technology is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Acumatica practice within the Enterprise Performance & Technology (EPT) group. This client-facing consulting role is responsible for leading and delivering Acumatica ERP implementation, optimization, integration, and business transformation engagements.

The Senior Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to clients, helping organizations improve financial, operational, project accounting, inventory, supply chain, distribution, manufacturing, and reporting processes through the effective use of Acumatica and related technologies. This role combines functional expertise, solution design, project leadership, and client relationship management to deliver successful business outcomes.

The ideal candidate possesses strong ERP consulting experience, deep knowledge of Acumatica, excellent business process acumen, and the ability to lead workstreams while mentoring junior consultants and collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

 

Essential Functions & Primary Duties
 

Client Delivery & Consulting

  • Lead Acumatica ERP implementation, upgrade, optimization, and transformation projects from discovery through post-go-live support.
  • Facilitate client workshops to gather and document business requirements.
  • Analyze current-state business processes and recommend future-state solutions aligned to industry best practices.
  • Design and configure Acumatica modules, workflows, dashboards, security, reporting, and business processes.
  • Translate client requirements into functional specifications and implementation plans.
  • Conduct solution demonstrations and process walkthroughs for clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead conference room pilots, testing sessions, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.

Business Process & Solution Design

  • Advise clients on financial, operational, inventory, manufacturing, distribution, project accounting, and service management processes.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, scalability, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with technical consultants and integration specialists to design end-to-end business solutions.
  • Support data migration, reporting strategy, and third-party software integrations.
  • Develop documentation including solution designs, business process maps, training materials, testing scripts, and configuration guides.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with executives, finance leaders, operations teams, and key client stakeholders.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert throughout the client engagement lifecycle.
  • Present recommendations, project status updates, and solution demonstrations to client leadership.
  • Support account growth by identifying opportunities for additional services, enhancements, or optimization initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead workstreams and project activities with minimal supervision.
  • Mentor Associate Consultants and Consultants through project delivery, training, and coaching.
  • Participate in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and practice development activities.
  • Contribute to delivery methodologies, implementation templates, and reusable intellectual property.

Practice Growth & Business Development

  • Assist with proposal development, RFP responses, statements of work, and solution architecture discussions.
  • Participate in vendor events, webinars, demonstrations, and marketing initiatives.
  • Support pre-sales activities including discovery meetings, solution demonstrations, and effort estimation.
  • Stay current on Acumatica product releases, industry trends, and ERP best practices.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, Technology, or a related field.
  • 4-7+ years of ERP consulting, implementation, or business systems experience.
  • 3+ years of Acumatica implementation and configuration experience.
  • Experience leading client-facing ERP projects.
  • Strong understanding of business processes in one or more of the following areas: 
    • Financial Management
    • Distribution
    • Inventory Management
    • Manufacturing
    • Project Accounting
    • Professional Services
    • Construction
  • Experience gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, and delivering end-user training.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
     

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Acumatica certifications.
  • CPA, CMA, PMP, CBAP, or related professional certification.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with API-based integrations and third-party business applications.
  • Prior consulting experience within a professional services organization.
  • Experience supporting distribution, manufacturing, construction, or professional services clients.
  • Strong ERP solution design capabilities.
  • Exceptional client service and relationship management skills.
  • Business process transformation expertise.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication.
  • Project planning and organizational effectiveness.
  • Independent decision-making and accountability.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and certification development.
  • Ability to leverage AI and productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve efficiency, documentation quality, and solution delivery.
  • Ability to travel based on client and business needs.
  • Travel requirements may vary depending on project location, implementation phase, and client expectations.

 


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Achieve professional certifications relative to area of expertise, must have and preserve required licenses
  • Must possess analytical skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
