The Role

We are seeking a Senior Capture and Proposal Specialist to lead the development and execution of high-impact proposals across federal and commercial space opportunities. This role is critical to winning strategic business in a highly competitive, technically complex environment spanning defense, intelligence, civil space, and commercial markets.

You will operate at the intersection of business development, engineering, and program execution, shaping winning strategies for pursuits involving advanced space technologies, including satellite systems, communications, and next-generation infrastructure.

Responsibilities 

  • Own the full lifecycle of proposal development, including:
    • RFI / RFQ / RFP responses
    • Technical, management
    • Compliance and submission readiness 
  • Shape early-stage opportunities, including customer engagement, competitive positioning, and win strategy development
  • Partner with Business Development to identify and qualify new pursuits aligned with growth priorities
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Finance, Legal) to deliver high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals
  • Ensure alignment between technical solutions and customer mission requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with cross functional teams including engineering, finance, and legal.
  • Drive internal alignment to ensure proposals reflect feasible, scalable, and competitive offerings
  • Provide insights and lessons learned to improve future capture and proposal efforts
  • Provide technical support at trade shows and conferences

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in capture management, proposal management, or business development within aerospace, defense, or space industries
  • Proven track record of leading and winning complex federal and/or commercial proposals
  • Experience working on large-scale, technically complex space or defense programs
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent pursuits
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with satellite systems, space infrastructure, communications, or ISR platforms
  • Familiarity with capture frameworks (Shipley, APMP, etc.)
  • Experience supporting both federal and commercial pursuits

Compensation 

The approximate base salary range for this position is $113,472 - $148,932. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, equity, and a range of benefit options found on our career site.   

**Benefits will be provided by Skyloom, Inc., an IonQ Company, and will differ from the benefits listed on the IonQ website.**

Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity.  Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. Our benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, matching 401K, unlimited PTO and paid holidays, parental/adoption leave, legal insurance, and a home technology stipend.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided when a candidate receives an offer of employment.
