Leads cross-functional technical programs across IonQ’s application platform, developer tools, and compiler roadmap. Translates technical vision into milestones, manages dependencies and risks, maintains planning and tracking systems, exposes technical debt and operational work, and reports data-driven status to senior leadership. The role supports approximately 40 engineers across four teams and requires navigating ambiguity, technical tradeoffs, staffing, customer-facing work, and AI-driven program-management workflows.

Leads end-to-end spacecraft programs from development through qualification, production, and delivery. Manages cross-functional engineering teams, schedules, budgets, risks, technical requirements, procurement, subcontractors, and interdependencies across a project portfolio. Provides strategic prioritization, data-driven decision-making, executive communication, and mentorship to program managers and team members. Requires aerospace hardware program expertise and familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum frameworks.

Lead technical programs across their full lifecycle, managing cross-functional teams, portfolios, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication. Translate technical requirements into delivery plans, prioritize initiatives, track progress, and drive data-informed decisions. The role supports component upgrades, design, and spacecraft integration while mentoring project resources and applying waterfall, agile, and scrum methodologies in a fast-paced aerospace and national security environment.

Lead full-cycle PCBA design for spaceflight hardware: requirements, schematic/layout, bring-up, test, verification, and manufacturing handoff. Collaborate with RF, mechanical, software, and FPGA teams, mentor junior engineers, engage CMs/vendors, and drive failure analysis and flight-readiness for high-reliability satellite electronics.

Lead a team to develop and execute component-level acceptance testing and test infrastructure for spacecraft. Own test strategies, automated test systems, GSE, flatsats, calibration and lifecycle planning. Drive troubleshooting, partner with engineering and manufacturing to improve testability, and establish KPIs to measure throughput, utilization, and infrastructure availability to support production and integration.

Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers for the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components in aerospace applications, ensuring compliance and driving innovation.

Lead full-cycle PCBA design for spaceflight hardware from concept through in-orbit debug. Develop robust analog/digital boards, define test and verification plans, guide manufacturing handoff, conduct cross-disciplinary reviews, mentor engineers, engage vendors/CMs, and drive failure analysis and process improvements to deliver flight-ready electronics.

Build and design clear APIs, software libraries, and rich visualizations that turn quantum prototypes into production applications. Collaborate with Developer Tools, Infrastructure, and Product teams, mentor junior developers, and polish internal tools and integrations to support domain-specific data and visual outputs.

Lead experimental research on trapped-ion quantum processors: design, prototype, calibrate, and benchmark coherent control and cooling schemes using laser and microwave fields; validate integrated trap electronics and photonics; analyze experimental data, debug hardware/software interactions, and present results.

Lead go-to-market strategy and launches for IonQ's quantum sensing products. Develop positioning, messaging, sales enablement, and AI-enabled GTM systems; partner with product, engineering, and sales; own competitive intelligence and customer insights to drive adoption in government, defense, aerospace, and critical infrastructure markets.

The Chief Architect designs, implements, and optimizes optical communication terminals for space systems, leading engineering activities from concept to launch while collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing technical support for optical systems.

Lead spacecraft assembly and integration across multiple configurations. Own manufacturing execution, develop work instructions and processes, design GSE, drive DFM, investigate non-conformances, review drawings for manufacturability, and partner with supply chain to improve yield and reduce cycle time.

Design, develop, test, and maintain flight software for a satellite constellation. Integrate with FPGA, EE, and ground teams, lead code reviews, mentor engineers, write unit/integration tests and documentation, troubleshoot on-orbit issues, and support full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment.

Lead and improve AS9100 QMS and supplier/manufacturing quality for aerospace programs. Perform audits, manage nonconformances, drive root cause analyses and CAPAs, support supplier qualification and source inspections, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure product and process compliance.

Provides legal counsel across IonQ’s product lifecycle, leading regulatory compliance for technology products and negotiating strategic partnerships, licensing, joint development, supply, and manufacturing transactions. The role partners with product, research, engineering, finance, privacy, and compliance teams; develops product-legal processes; and advises on novel legal issues involving quantum technology, international operations, and export-controlled products.

Leads global commercial alliances with major hyperscalers, including AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, and Oracle. Owns joint business plans, co-sell motions, customer qualification, quantum capacity resale, marketplace routes, pricing, negotiations, pipeline, and revenue growth. Builds lighthouse partnerships, customer references, repeatable sales playbooks, and regional execution models for IonQ’s quantum computing and related technologies. Requires extensive hyperscaler alliance experience, emerging-technology commercialization expertise, executive communication, cross-functional leadership, and global travel.

Lead federal go-to-market and sales growth for IonQ’s quantum sensing products. Develop sales strategy, identify and manage large PNT/RF opportunities, oversee deals from customer engagement through contract delivery, monitor sales KPIs, and build executive relationships across the sensing industry. Collaborate with product, marketing, engineering, finance, legal, program management, and customer success teams to shape offerings, contracts, messaging, and customer outcomes.

Lead design and customer engagements to make networks quantum-safe: inventory cryptography, design migration paths to PQC and hybrid key exchange, run proofs-of-concept (including QKD where relevant), produce reference architectures and playbooks, influence standards, and provide technical authority across sales, product, and engineering.

Develop and scale selected reseller, distributor, systems integrator, telecommunications, hyperscaler, and consulting partnerships across the Americas. Lead partner strategy, co-selling, customer qualification, solution development, negotiations, pipeline forecasting, and commercialization of IonQ’s quantum portfolio. Build lighthouse engagements into referenceable wins, repeatable sales motions, and scalable channels while coordinating regional sales, global alliance, engineering, marketing, and program teams.

Owns IonQ’s sales strategy and account relationships across state, local, and academic institutions in the Northwest. Responsibilities include developing executive relationships, identifying opportunities, building quantum technology sales pipelines, qualifying deals, creating proposals, negotiating agreements, closing business, and supporting customer satisfaction. The role requires extensive quota-carrying technology sales experience in the SLED market and familiarity with emerging technologies such as quantum computing and AI/ML.
