Position Overview

The Senior Business Operations Analyst provides the analytics and planning support for ZURU's Sales and Commercial teams in the US. This role manages retail POS reporting and distribution, item-level demand forecasts, and the financial analysis supporting assortment, pricing, and promotional decisions. The position acts as a bridge between internal sales teams and the retailer, preparing and presenting the data used in line reviews, joint business plans, and buyer meetings.

Position Impact

In the first 3-6 months, you will take over the weekly and monthly POS reporting cycle, publish item and brand performance findings on a set cadence, and produce the forecasts used in the next line review and JBP.

By 12+ months, you will have documented the core reporting and forecasting processes, removed identified inefficiencies with solutions scalable to other markets and teams, and delivered one ZURU project that changes how the commercial teams plan

Roles & Responsibilities
  • POS reporting and analysis – Own weekly, monthly and seasonal POS reporting and distribution; analyse retail sales, profit, market trends, competitor and promotional activity, and sell-in against retail POS metrics.

  • Demand forecasting – Produce item-level weekly, monthly and seasonal forecasts that support Sales, Commercial and Supply planning while limiting the company's exposure to excess inventory.

  • Financial analysis – Build and maintain P&L statements for actual and forward-looking outlooks; analyse revenue, cost and margin by product, brand, class and category to identify gaps and opportunities.

  • Category and assortment analysis – Monitor category sales, dynamics, ranking, productivity and shopper behaviour; recommend product assortment, pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness and planogram changes.

  • SKU and inventory management – Make proactive SKU recommendations across retail, margin, chase and cancellations; manage in-stock levels and end-of-selling-period inventory transitions with Inventory and Demand Planners.

  • Reporting and visualisation – Build reports and dashboards in Excel, Tableau and Power BI for internal teams and retailer accounts, covering ladder plans, joint business plans, slot plans and line review presentations.

  • Retailer and stakeholder engagement – Prepare and present sales, operations and financial insights to retailer teams in key meetings, and align business operations with sales strategy alongside the VP of Sales, Commercial, Marketing and Operations.

  • Process improvement – Document key processes and best practice across Sales, Commercial and Product; map inefficiencies, implement scalable solutions, and deliver one key ZURU project each year.

Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or another quantitative field.

  • 3+ years in business operations, sales analytics, consulting, strategy or commercial finance - ideally in consumer goods, toys or FMCG.

  • Demonstrated experience building item-level demand forecasts and presenting analysis to executives, retail partners and department heads.

  • Advanced Excel (builds and maintains complex models), SQL, and data visualisation in Tableau and/or Power BI; exposure to AWS or Azure data environments an advantage.

  • Experience building and maintaining P&L statements and analysing revenue, cost and margin by product, brand and category.
