About this job:

The primary objective of the Senior Analyst is to independently lead end-to-end analytical and research initiatives, from framing complex or ambiguous problems through delivering executive-ready insights and recommendations. The Senior Analyst applies an inquisitive mindset, advanced analytical methods, influences decision making at senior levels, and mentors others to ensure high standards of rigor, consistency, and impact across district analytics.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and deliver complex, high impact analytical and research workstreams, serving as the primary analytical point of contact for assigned focus areas and owning end-to-end execution from problem framing through delivery. Ensure timely delivery of scheduled and priority ad-hoc work
• Independently frame ambiguous or complex problems by defining research questions, analytic approaches, success criteria, and hypotheses, and by guiding execution from data validation through synthesis and stakeholder presentation
• Extract and evaluate large, complex datasets, ensuring data quality, integrity, and appropriate use. Develop metrics and performance indicators that support district wide decision making
• Prepare and present analytical findings and recommendations to senior leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders, translating complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives and visualizations.
• Facilitate data informed meetings and discussions, guiding stakeholders through interpretation of findings, surfacing implications and trade offs, and supporting alignment on decisions and next steps
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and credibility of analyses and data products, adhering to data governance, privacy, and quality standards.
• Serve as a trusted analytical advisor and subject matter expert, partnering across departments to address complex, cross functional challenges and evaluate strategic options.
• Lead forward looking analysis and forecasting that supports long term district planning
• Build analytical capacity across the district, including supporting analysts, establishing shared analytical standards, and developing training and decision support tools to strengthen data literacy and effective data use
• Serve as the primary point of contact for identified focus area(s) and/or support additional work, as assigned
 

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Education, Social Sciences, Engineering, or related STEM fields
• Master's Degree Information Technology, Business, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Education, Social Sciences, Engineering, or related STEM fields preferred
• Experience in at least 3 of the following areas: 
  • Research, Education, Public Health, Social Policy, Program Evaluation. Technical expertise: Business Intelligence, Reporting, Dashboarding / Visualizations, Data Science, Analytics, Programming. Analysis and modeling: Data Analysis, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Data Modeling
• Experience with statistical software and familiarity with SQL and other programming a plus
• Experience in creating ad-hoc data-based reports for decision making, including KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards preferred
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong project management and prioritization skills, including the ability to own multiple complex initiatives, anticipate risks, manage shifting priorities, and deliver high-quality work under competing deadlines
• Advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods, including statistical modeling, trend and scenario analysis, and program evaluation techniques
• Demonstrated ability to ensure analytical rigor, consistency, and credibility across complex workstreams, including identifying and correcting errors in one’s own work and reviewing the work of others as appropriate
• Strong analytical judgment, including the ability to interpret complex data within real-world constraints such as policy, funding, operational context, and implementation feasibility
• Strong attention to detail. Accountable for analytical rigor, consistency, and credibility across workstreams
• Demonstrated accountability for individual performance and outcomes, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
• Provides technical mentorship and conducts code/methodology reviews to ensure quality and build organizational analytical capacity
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments, building strong, productive relationships with district and school leaders, staff, and partners
• High degree of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive data, maintaining data privacy, security, and ethical standards
• Manage up and serve as a trusted analytical advisor, effectively navigating organizational and political dynamics to shape stakeholder expectations and support informed, context-aware decision-making
• Serve as a knowledgeable advocate and spokesperson for assigned focus area(s), representing analytical findings clearly and credibly
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical analyses, research methods, and evaluation processes into clear, accessible, and actionable insights for diverse audiences
• Work collaboratively in a diverse environment with a variety of district and school leaders, staff and students
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with evolving expectations while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to apply statistical rigor to complex, real-world datasets, utilizing inferential statistics and predictive modeling to drive evidence based decision making
