Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.

 

This role provides the day-to-day status of EchoStar’s compliance to responsible standards, monitoring data, engineering, and business unit teams to validate safety and compliance. The role is detail-oriented, focusing on maintaining accurate documentation by proactively maintaining and updating the enterprise Governance Compliance and Risk Register and resolution reporting.

 

What Success Looks Like (Objectives)

  • Maintains and updates EchoStar’s Data and AI Governance Compliance and Risk Register to ensure a real-time, comprehensive inventory of AI and data assets and their associated adherence to standards; this involves tracking the status of remediation plans, ensuring AI solutions and data consumption meet strict internal governance standards

  • Assists in translating emerging regulations (e.g., Colorado AI Act, NIST AI RMF) into practical operational controls and workflow adjustments

  • Collaborates with AI/ML engineers and DevSecOps teams to integrate compliance gates into CI/CD pipelines and MLOps workflows

  • Supports the development and enforcement of AI and data policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring the right policies and procedures are in place for technical and business teams to remain compliant

  • Serves as the primary coordinator for gathering evidence and documentation required for compliance and risk reviews

  • Ensures that all "Audit-Balance-Control" artifacts are organized, up-to-date, and readily available to demonstrate compliance during inquiries

  • Prepares executive reporting on EchoStar’s compliance to AI and data governance providing data-driven insights, trends, and remediation plans.

  • Provides AI risk assessment oversight as needed


Skills, Experience and Requirements
Core Skills and Competencies (What You'll Bring)
  • Ability to determine if a technical workflow actually satisfies a governance requirement
  • Proficiency in Governance, Risk, and Compliance processes and supporting tools and the ability to maintain complex Risk Registers
  • Proven degree of audit-mindedness with a proven ability to organize audit-balance-control artifacts used in defending inquiries
  • Ability to interpret data lineage, metadata tags, and model performance reports to validate that teams are following EchoStar standards
  • Skilled in version control, documentation hygiene, and tracking remediation timelines
  • When a team/agent fails a compliance standard, proven ability to track resolution and report progress
  • Skilled in preparing executive-level presentations and reporting

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience within the Telecommunications or Technology sectors.

  • Background managing data assets as operational inventory.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Policy, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum Experience: 4–6 years of experience in Data Governance, AI Governance, or Regulatory Compliance within a large-scale enterprise.

  • Required Technical Skills: experience with:

    • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) processes and Risk Register tools

    • AI regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, Colorado AI Act)

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
