  • Review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, net worth) and bookkeeping prepared by Staff Accountants before publication
  • Review and, where needed, execute accounts payable and payroll
  • Own budget-vs-actual analysis and contribute to budgeting and forecasting
  • Participate in Matter's monthly peer-review and internal-audit process
  • Coordinate with vendors, banks, accountants, attorneys, and financial advisors

  • Prepare reports and follow-up items for client meetings
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA (or progress toward it) preferred
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com
  • Proven bookkeeping mastery and the ability to review and correct others' work
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of partnership accounting, book vs. tax, and estate-planning mechanisms
  • Understanding of what CPAs need for quarterly estimates and accurate tax returns
  • Experience managing family finances, including budgeting, bill pay, and cash flow
  • Confident client communicator who is detail-oriented, organized, and self-directed
  • Proven discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Mac-based hardware and software
