Senior Accountants play an important role in maintaining accurate financial information and supporting the success of RK Industries. In this role, you’ll take ownership of key accounting processes, support monthly and year-end close activities, prepare financial reporting, and provide meaningful financial insights to leaders across the business.
Working closely with the Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, support multiple areas of the business, and help drive greater efficiency across the accounting department.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, and intercompany transactions.
- Support monthly and year-end financial close processes.
- Assist with monthly financial statements, schedules, KPIs, and internal reporting packages.
- Prepare audit-ready schedules, supporting documentation, and analyses for external auditors.
- Assist with property tax filings, sales and use tax returns, and other compliance reporting.
- Help maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial data and analysis to internal teams including Marketing, IT, HR, and Supply Chain.
- Support the Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller in providing financial insights to Business Unit leadership.
- Assist with accounts payable, cash management, and other operational accounting functions as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Participate in the implementation and training of new accounting tools and processes.
- Maintain process documentation and contribute to standard operating procedures.
- Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location environment is preferred.
- CPA certification or progress toward a CPA is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, team-oriented approach with a desire to improve processes and solve problems.
