Pay: $80,000 – $90,000 per year

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Colorado (Hybrid)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid; 3 or more days in office preferred

Reports To: Controller


The Role

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational excellence of Tasman by ensuring the timely and accurate completion of accounting functions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

This position works closely with the Controller and CFO to support accounting operations, analyze financial results, develop process improvements, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing organization.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Support the accounting team in meeting financial reporting deadlines and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports for executive leadership
  • Investigate and resolve material variances and discrepancies
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting requirements
  • Identify trends and provide recommendations based on financial analysis

Accounting Operations

  • Lead portions of the monthly financial close process, including journal entries and accruals
  • Maintain prepaid accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and monitor daily banking activity
  • Support the monthly billing cycle and help resolve billing-related issues
  • Assist with weekly check run processing
  • Support monthly A/R aging reviews and assessment activities

Compliance, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and internal controls
  • Interpret and implement accounting guidance related to new accounting standards or business changes
  • Identify accounting, reporting, and internal control risks and recommend solutions
  • Lead accounting projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Evaluate existing workflows and recommend efficiencies and best practices

Audit & Cross-Functional Support

  • Coordinate and assist with annual audits and supporting documentation
  • Support year-end reporting activities, including 1099 preparation
  • Work collaboratively with departments across the organization
  • Assist leadership with special projects and operational initiatives as needed

 

What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced, mid-sized organization
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with accounting and financial systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Positive attitude and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA designation
  • Experience within engineering, consulting, environmental, construction, or related industries
  • Experience using NetSuite
  • Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives

 

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with a hybrid work arrangement.

Work Conditions

  • Hybrid schedule with three or more days per week in the office preferred
  • Fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Regular interaction with accounting, finance, operations, and leadership teams
  • Routine use of computers, financial systems, and office equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent computer and desk work
  • Regular use of hands and fingers for typing and data entry
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Frequent communication via phone, video conferencing, and in-person meetings

 

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Flexible working hours may be approved based on business needs
  • Occasional additional hours may be required during month-end close, audit periods, or special projects
