As a Senior Accountant at our firm, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing financial reports from associates and building/maintaining strong client relationships through delivery of financials via virtual meetings and email. You will supervise a team of associates and are responsible for the team’s performance and success. Additionally, you are responsible for providing general accounting guidance to clients and serving as the liaison between accounting and tax to ensure a seamless transition for the client during year-end and tax preparation. Senior Accountants will also provide technical input on accounting issues, train and supervise less experienced staff, and create/implement improvements for the team and firm.

We are a 100% virtual CPA firm, with our team located across the United States. As a real estate niche-focused firm, we serve Real Estate Investors, Syndicates, and Fund Managers. Our team has a passion for real estate and often owns investment properties themselves.

Areas of Responsibility

• Supervise a team of staff accountants to ensure quality and timely delivery of products by clearing roadblocks, setting deadlines, managing capacity, and providing training and guidance

• Adhere to professional ethics of the firm and AICPA, including policies regarding client confidentiality

• Create, review, and deliver high-quality and timely financial statements, including dashboards, KPIs, and forecasting to clients while building and maintaining a strong client relationship, recommending additional firm services where appropriate

• Regularly update supervisors, peers, and clients on project status, maintaining prompt (same-day) responsiveness and fostering a culture of accountability

• Assist in various projects throughout the year designed to enhance client/employee experience including, but not limited to, client proposals, process improvements, efficiency and effectiveness committees, and development of training materials

• Lead efficient client onboarding utilizing project management tracking to ensure a smooth, timely and satisfactory client experience, and ensure a clean year-end hand-off of client information to the tax team

• Complete administrative tasks applicable to the role such as maintaining accurate and up to date project information within our project management system, taking and appropriately storing adequate client notes, and adhering to project processes

• Engage in relevant CPE opportunities to continuously enhance technical skills and keep current with evolving accounting processes

Measures for Success

• NPS ratings from clients, averaging 9/10 or greater

• Timeliness of deliverables and workpapers, reflected by production metrics

• Accuracy of deliverables and workpapers, reflected by instant accounting feedback quality ratings maintaining less than 5% unsatisfactory in instant feedback quality ratings

• Development of your technical skills, reflected in instant feedback quality ratings and ability to tackle projects of greater complexity

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, with 2 years experience as a Senior Accountant overseeing a team of staff accountants recommended

• QBO certified

• CPA or CMA recommended or actively pursuing
