As a Security Solution Sales Engineering Manager for Manufacturing & Mobility, you will lead a team of Solution Engineers that helps customers confidently adopt end to end security solutions, enable artificial intelligence in a secure manner, and use advanced capabilities to strengthen their security posture. You will partner closely with sales and technical leaders to drive the technical sale, shape the security strategy for our manufacturing and mobility customers, and ensure that Microsoft’s differentiated security story shows up clearly in every engagement.

In this role, you will lead and grow a high performing team of solution engineers, providing clarity, removing blockers, and enabling them to win complex technical decisions. You will guide your team in designing and demonstrating integrated security architectures, from cloud to edge, that help customers protect critical operations, safeguard data, and unlock innovation with artificial intelligence. You will use your deep understanding of Microsoft’s security portfolio and the competitive landscape to influence strategy, scale best practices, and build strong partnerships across the security ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of solution engineers, modeling Microsoft manager expectations by defining clear objectives, enabling success across boundaries, and investing in the growth of each team member.
  • Shape and execute cross-workload technical strategy for priority manufacturing and mobility security opportunities, orchestrating resources and capacity planning to maximize impact and deliver on subsidiary scorecard objectives.
  • Guide the team in designing and proving complex, integrated security and cloud architectures, including demonstrations, architectural design sessions, pilots, and proofs of concept that address customer requirements and competitive pressures.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of customer technical engagements by capturing, sharing, and driving adherence to standards, best practices, and repeatable patterns across the security solution area and partner ecosystem.
  • Build and grow the partner network and internal alliances, strengthening joint go-to-market motions, expanding technical capacity, and identifying new opportunities where Microsoft security solutions can deliver differentiated value for customers.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR 7+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, cloud security, identity, threat protection, data protection, or related security domains, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience designing, deploying, or advising on security solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments, including security architecture, risk reduction, compliance, threat detection and response, Zero Trust, and industry security standards.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, including hiring, coaching, and leading high-performing Security Sales Engineering or cybersecurity technical teams, including virtual or geographically distributed teams.

Solution Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
