We are currently looking for a Scrum Master for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role will lead Agile and SAFe practices across multiple cross-functional software development teams, supporting large-scale development, data management, software integration, and CI/CD initiatives. The Scrum Master will facilitate Agile ceremonies, manage team execution and impediments, support backlog prioritization, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
This position operates within a highly collaborative, cross-functional Agile environment and requires close coordination with technical teams, government stakeholders, and senior client leadership to drive delivery, transparency, and alignment across the project.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate Agile and SAFe ceremonies, including PI Planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and other team planning and coordination activities.
- Facilitate backlog management and prioritization activities while tracking team output, commitments, actions, dependencies, and progress toward delivery objectives.
- Identify and remove team blockers, proactively resolve delivery challenges, and drive continuous process improvement opportunities across Agile teams.
- Build strong relationships across highly cross-functional software development teams to encourage collaboration, transparency, innovation, and effective delivery within a CI/CD environment.
- Promote Agile quality practices, coordinate activities across teams and organizations, and advise government personnel on opportunities to improve and standardize processes.
- Work directly with senior-level client leadership, facilitate briefings and delivery engagements, and accurately capture and track resulting actions, decisions, and requests.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related scientific/technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading Agile software development teams supporting automated application deployments, scaling, and management.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale software development, data management, software integration, and CI/CD initiatives.
- Expertise in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and a current SAFe Scrum Master certification.
- Strong communication, technical documentation, meeting facilitation, and organizational skills, with demonstrated experience briefing senior leadership and accurately capturing resulting actions and requests.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, eliminate impediments, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement in complex technical environments.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), including familiarity with VA tools, processes, frameworks, or federal healthcare modernization initiatives, is preferred.
- Experience with project, Agile, development, and configuration management tools such as Jira and GitHub, as well as experience working within CI/CD and other technical software delivery environments, is preferred.
- Experience with InterSystems technologies and healthcare-related systems or projects is preferred.

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
