Position Summary:
The Salesforce Product Owner will be responsible for leading the strategy, development, and optimization of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Salesforce ecosystem to support fundraising, community member engagement, marketing, and operations. The Product Owner will balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a highly-collaborative, mission-driven nonprofit environment.The Product Owner will partner with business leaders, technology teams, and end users to translate organizational goals into scalable Salesforce solutions, drive employee adoption, ensure data integrity, and continuously improve platform performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Vision and Strategy:
Own and maintain the Salesforce product roadmap in close collaboration with leadership, technology, functional leads, and end-users.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog, including enhancements, technical debt, defects, and platform maintenance to deliver key milestones on the roadmap.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (marketing, programs, finance, operations) to capture and translate business requirements into functional solutions.
Facilitate discovery sessions, document requirements, and define user stories and acceptance criteria.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Steering Committee and workstream leads on Salesforce capabilities and best practices.
Platform and Release Management:
Oversee Salesforce releases, enhancements, integrations, and upgrades, mitigating roadblocks and supporting solutioning to ensure smooth implementation.
Lead and facilitate user adoption training (UAT) and regression testing in partnership with business owners.
Ensure stable deployments with minimal disruptions to users and business operations.
User Adoption, Training and Change Management:
Serve as a Salesforce champion, promoting employee adoption and supporting education on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure the creation and maintenance of training materials, documentation, and user communications for end-users and back-office staff.
Data, Governance, and Reporting:
Develop and optimize Salesforce reports and dashboards to provide insights into key performance metrics, empowering stakeholders to make informed data-driven decisions that support the Foundation’s strategic goals.
Partner with data and technology teams to support data integrity, security, privacy, and compliance.
Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and reinforce data governance standards and best practices.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Drive adoption and continuous improvement through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Monitor system performance, user feedback, and adoption metrics to identify opportunities for optimization.
Stay current on Salesforce releases, new features, and industry trends, recommending enhancements that improve efficiency and user experience.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
10+ years of experience in Salesforce, CRM, or enterprise system roles (e.g., Product Owner, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Salesforce Manager).
3+ years of experience owning or leading a Salesforce platform, product, or major functional area.
Demonstrated experience with:
Salesforce product ownership or platform management
Backlog management and roadmap planning
Cross-functional stakeholder engagement
System releases and change management
Data governance
Strong experience with Salesforce reporting and dashboards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Agile experience.
Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Product Owner, or related).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge and experience in data analytics techniques, tools, and methodologies.
Strong project and change management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance considerations.
Strong stakeholder relationship management, partnership, and collaboration skills.
Experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or mission-driven organization with a high-touch, highly collaborative culture.
Experience working with external Salesforce partners or consultants.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Senior Director, Marketing. No direct reports.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
No heavy lifting required.
Minimal travel (e.g., 2x/yr) to conferences and meetings, as necessary.

The salary range is $145,800.00 to $182,400.00.
