Sales Representative
Position Summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for leading the sales organization, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and driving revenue growth in the chemical manufacturing sector. This role will focus on expanding market share, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring alignment between sales goals and overall business objectives. The Sales Representative will leverage deep industry knowledge to identify new opportunities, optimize pricing strategies, and strengthen the company’s competitive position.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new market segments, product opportunities, and geographic expansion strategies.
- Set annual sales goals, budgets, and performance targets, ensuring consistent achievement of revenue objectives.
Business Development & Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Oversee key account management, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
- Negotiate major contracts and pricing agreements with customers.
Market & Industry Expertise
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and new technologies in chemical manufacturing.
- Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and operations teams to ensure product offerings meet market needs.
- Provide input into product development and innovation initiatives based on customer feedback and market demands.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Monitor sales performance through KPIs, pipeline management, and forecasting accuracy.
- Prepare regular reports for executive leadership on sales metrics, competitive intelligence, and market opportunities.
- Oversee CRM usage and data integrity to support decision-making and account management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 2+ years of sales experience in the chemical manufacturing industry
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication abilities.
- Deep understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, products, and market dynamics.
- Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment & Travel
- Remote with frequent travel to customer sites, industry events, and company facilities (up to 40%).
