Job Purpose
The Sales Manager (SM) is responsible for maximizing retail sales and service results within assigned locations. The SM drives business through effective account partnership, team leadership, training, relationship building, and consistent execution. The role focuses on achieving sales goals, implementing brand standards, and ensuring outstanding customer experiences.
Core Responsibilities
- Sales and Service Achievement
- Achieve retail sales goals (product & services) by assigned account, identifying strengths and weaknesses.
- Continuously monitor and analyze retail performance data within the assigned market to formulate action plans to address performance gaps and capitalize on opportunities.
- Effectively plan and execute new product launches and company programs, focusing on retail results.
- Utilize various and comprehensive training programs, covering sales techniques, service excellence, and client engagement.
- Team Management and Development - This role may involve direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities depending on assignment and organizational structure.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations and scopes.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management to support team members’ growth, success, and overall well-being, while inspiring local teams to achieve excellence and embody Benefit values.
- Promote accountability, performance culture, and continuous learning within teams.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and employee engagement while encouraging diversity and inclusivity within the team.
- Communicate closely with appropriate Benefit partners on all issues, concerns, and opportunities.
- Retail Partnership and Development
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment, providing guidance and support to achieve business targets and elevate brand performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all assigned retail partners, building trust through responsiveness, reliability, and a deep understanding of individual needs.
- Maintain a proactive dialogue with local retail partner leadership (regional, district, and store leaders), anticipating opportunities and addressing issues before they escalate.
- Negotiate with retail partners, ensuring optimal commercial conditions while preserving brand equity. Secure best locations and visibility for Benefit and identify key image drivers to strengthen brand presence.
- Client Experience and Brand Representation
- Ensure that the highest level of client experience is consistently provided across all locations, creating a memorable and personalized experience for every client.
- Cultivate a positive and engaging environment for clients, store personnel, and employees.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to enhance brand loyalty and reputation within the assigned market.
- Business Development
- Act as a key business driver in developing and implementing local strategies aligned with overarching business objectives.
- Leverage strategic thinking and business analysis to propose innovative ideas and insights aimed at enhancing market performance.
- Analyze business trends and competitor activities within the assigned area to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and promotional programming to maximize efficiency and profitability within the assigned market.
- Administer and track all budgets within the assigned market. Monitor and control expenses (T&E, freelance) within the set budget.
- Ensure compliance with Internal Control policies and Audit readiness.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Ability to test and apply products to skin.
- Physical capability for tasks that may involve lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
- Continuous standing/walking for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Continuous bending of neck, arms, torso, and legs for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Work in a fragrance-filled environment.
- Physical contact with clients/customers.
- Able to use a computer for prolonged periods (6-8 hours/day).
- Travel requirement (up to 80%).
- Typical schedule requires 80% in-store presence.

Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in beauty sales or a related field.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and service goals.
- Must have proof of insurance, a current and valid driver’s license, and a reliable means of transportation.
- Cosmetology or Aesthetician license preferred. If not currently licensed, company-sponsored training may be provided.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully complete the E-Verify process.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays, as needed to meet the requirements of the business.
- Ability to travel within the assigned geography, by air if necessary, for up to 4 days per week.

The target salary range for this position is $68,000 – $93,500 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn a sales incentive bonus and/or commission.
