About KindlingKindling is a Nashville-based snack company making protein pretzels for people who’d rather be outside. We pair the crunch of a classic pretzel with nutrient-dense protein, fiber, and whole grains, in craveable flavors like Sea Salt, Dill Pickle, Honey Mustard, Garlic Parmesan, and Churro.
We’re a young, fast-growing brand in natural, conventional, club, and e-commerce channels, built by a founding team that has scaled a nationally recognized better-for-you brand before. We give 1% of revenue to the outdoor spaces where communities thrive and play, through the Kindling Impact Foundation.
Our mission: Every moment outside matters. We’re here to feed it.
About the RoleWe have more data than we have hours to read it. SPINS, Circana, retailer portals, distributor feeds, shelf data: it’s all coming in. We need someone who can turn it into a clear answer: where we’re winning, where we’re leaking, and how sales can activate against it.
This is an analyst seat with a sales-support job. You’ll help build the story behind every line review, sell-in, and promo decision, and you’ll sit close to the sales team, not off in a reporting corner.
Please note: this role is . Until we hire a Head of Sales, you’ll report directly to our CEO.
What You’ll DoTurn data into direction˃ Own weekly and monthly performance reporting across SPINS (via Bedrock), Circana (Costco), and retailer portals: Walmart Luminate, Target, and Albertsons.
˃ Diagnose the “why” behind the numbers, covering velocity, distribution, pricing, promo lift, and share against the category and competitors.
˃ Spot risks and opportunities before we’re asked about them: underperforming stores, voids, and distribution gaps worth chasing.
˃ Use distributor and shelf data (UNFI and KeHE via Treator) to connect what ships with what sells.
Arm the sales team˃ Build category review, line review, and sell-in decks that give buyers a reason to say yes.
˃ Run promo post-evaluations and trade ROI so we spend where it works.
˃ Support Costco rotation planning and read results: demo lift, sell-through, and the case for the next rotation.
˃ Partner on trade and deduction visibility as we roll out Confido.
˃ Field ad-hoc questions from sales, brokers, and leadership. Fast and accurate beats perfect and late.
Build the system˃ Help shape how we use Bedrock, Treator, Confido, Dirty Hands, and whatever comes next.
˃ Create repeatable dashboards and scorecards so the basics run themselves.
˃ Use AI tools to speed up analysis and free up time for thinking.
What You’ll BringMust have˃ [2–4 / 5+] years in CPG sales analytics, category management, or insights, on the brand side, at a broker, or at a data provider.
˃ Deep, hands-on SPINS experience. Circana or Nielsen is a plus.
˃ Experience in at least one retailer portal (Luminate, Target, Albertsons, or similar).
˃ Strong Excel. You build the model; you don’t just open it.
˃ The ability to turn a pile of numbers into three sentences a buyer or CEO will act on.
˃ Comfort learning new tools quickly. We’ll teach you our stack, and you’ll probably end up teaching us.
Nice to have˃ Natural/specialty and conventional channel experience.
˃ Club channel, especially Costco.
˃ Experience with trade spend or deduction platforms.
˃ Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
˃ Experience at an early-stage or high-growth brand.
What Success Looks LikeIn your first 90 days˃ Weekly reporting is running across all data sources.
˃ You own the next major line review deck.
˃ You’ve found at least one opportunity we weren’t seeing.
In your first 12 months˃ Sales walks into every buyer meeting with a data story.
˃ Promo decisions are backed by post-evals.
˃ The reporting runs itself, so you’re spending time on insight, not assembly.
