The Sales Enablement Manager is responsible for translating product and go-to-market strategy into the knowledge, skills, and confidence sellers need to execute effectively in market. This role partners closely with Product, Product Marketing, Marketing, Sales Leadership, and Learning & Development to build seller readiness across Cengage’s portfolio and offerings.

Through targeted enablement programs, certifications, resources, practice, and reinforcement, the Sales Enablement Manager helps sellers understand our products, connect capabilities to customer needs, articulate differentiated value, and confidently demonstrate solutions throughout the sales process. PRODUCT & SOLUTION READINESS - Translate product and go-to-market strategy into sales capability by partnering with Product POMs, Marketing, and Sales to turn product priorities, launches, and evolving capabilities into the knowledge and skills sellers need to execute in market.

  • Build product and solution confidence through enablement programs, training, and resources that help sellers connect product capabilities to customer needs and value.
  • Strengthen positioning and value storytelling by equipping sellers to clearly articulate differentiated value and optimally position Cengage products and solutions. - Increase seller proficiency in CLP and product demonstrations through targeted training, resources, practice, and reinforcement. SALES EXECUTION & COACHING - Partner with Sales leaders and frontline managers to identify skill and knowledge gaps and translate them into targeted enablement and coaching priorities.
  • Develop coaching frameworks, resources, and practice opportunities that help managers reinforce product knowledge, positioning, value storytelling, and demonstration skills.
  • Support ongoing seller development through workshops, role-play, call and field observations, and other applied learning experiences. - Reinforce enablement beyond formal training by embedding coaching and practice into the seller experience. COMPETENCY & CERTIFICATION - Establish and maintain product competency standards that define expectations for seller knowledge, confidence, and customer-facing readiness.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to develop and deliver certifications through High spot that validate seller proficiency and reinforce consistent standards across the sales organization.
  • Create ongoing reinforcement strategies that maintain seller readiness as products, solutions, positioning, and market needs evolve. - Use certification and competency insights to identify readiness gaps and prioritize future enablement. ENABLEMENT EFFECTIVENESS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT - Partner across Product, Marketing, Sales Leadership, Learning & Development, and other GTM teams to align enablement priorities with business and seller needs.
  • Measure the effectiveness of enablement through seller readiness, certification, engagement, adoption, and performance indicators.
  • Gather feedback from sellers and leaders to identify capability gaps and continuously improve enablement programs and resources.
  • Maintain relevant, accessible enablement content in High spot and continuously improve how sellers find, learn, and apply product and solution information.
Skills you will need here:

REQUIRED - bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, Education, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Enablement, Product Enablement, Sales Training, Product Marketing, Sales, or a related commercial role.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex product capabilities and strategic priorities into practical, seller-focused learning and enablement.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs that build seller knowledge, skills, and confidence.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to make complex concepts clear and actionable.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience partnering with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Learning & Development teams.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deliverables.
  • Experience with sales enablement and learning technologies. High spot experience is a plus.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience developing product or solution certification programs for sales teams.
  • Experience enabling sellers on product demonstrations and customer-facing solution presentations.
  • Ability to translate product positioning and value propositions into practical sales conversations and resources.
  • Understanding of adult learning and instructional design principles.
  • Experience developing scalable reinforcement and competency programs.
  • Experience managing and maintaining sales enablement content libraries.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, High spot, and other technologies commonly used within sales organizations.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

In this position,  you will be eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary incentive bonus program.  This position's bonus target amount, which is not guaranteed and is dependent on individual performance and overall company results among other factors, is provided below.  

5% Annual: Individual Target
$78,000.00 - $83,000.00 USD
