The Role

As a Sales Development Representative I, your primary responsibility is generating qualified pipeline that supports Account Executive and Vertical Growth Manager pipeline-coverage goals. You will create new business opportunities through outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up, uncover customer needs, and prepare larger or more complex opportunities for the appropriate seller.

To build full-cycle sales capability, you will also manage and close defined commercial opportunities within established ownership guardrails. This role is designed for an early-career sales professional who wants to develop prospecting, discovery, demonstration, opportunity-management, and closing skills while contributing directly to revenue growth.

What You'll Do
  • Generate qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up within an assigned territory or vertical to support AE and VGM pipeline-coverage goals.

  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities with accurate stages and clear next steps.

  • Conduct thoughtful discovery conversations to understand customer goals, business challenges, timing, stakeholders, and decision criteria.

  • Deliver engaging virtual product demonstrations that clearly communicate business value.

  • Own defined commercial opportunities from initial outreach through negotiation and close within established ownership guardrails.

  • Identify opportunities that require broader sales ownership and provide complete, timely handoffs to the appropriate Account Executive or Vertical Growth Manager.

  • Remain engaged in selected handoffs to support the customer experience and continue developing opportunity-strategy skills.

  • Identify expansion signals within existing customer accounts and route or manage them according to account-ownership guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, opportunity, pipeline, and customer information to support forecasting and business planning.

  • Partner with Marketing, Customer Success, Account Executives, Vertical Growth Managers, and Sales leadership to support customer and revenue outcomes.

How Success Is Measured
  • Attainment of assigned qualified-pipeline goals and contribution to AE and VGM pipeline-coverage expectations.

  • Quality and acceptance of AE and VGM handoffs, including complete discovery and opportunity information.

  • Opportunity progression, conversion, and attainment of assigned closing goals within established ownership guardrails.

  • Consistent activity quality, CRM accuracy, follow-through, and collaboration.

About You

You are a motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships, solving customer challenges, and creating new opportunities. You are naturally curious, ask thoughtful questions, and thrive in conversations that uncover business needs.

You enjoy owning your results and are excited to manage your own pipeline while building the skills needed for broader sales ownership. You are organized, resilient, coachable, and motivated by achieving goals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Ideal Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or another relevant customer-facing role.

  • Experience prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and managing customer conversations throughout the sales process.

  • Demonstrated success closing transactional opportunities or contributing to revenue-generating sales activities.

  • Strong discovery, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple opportunities while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail.

  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage pipeline, customer activity, and sales performance.

Nice to Have
  • Experience selling SaaS, marketing technology, or subscription-based software.

  • Experience delivering virtual product demonstrations.

  • Familiarity with sales-engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, Gong, or similar platforms.

  • Knowledge of email marketing, customer engagement, or marketing automation solutions.
