POSITION: Safety Officer (Full-Time and Part Time)

Available Shifts

Overnight Shifts (Full-Time & Part-Time Available)

  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Overnight shift differential applies (Weekday $2.00, Weekend $3.00)

Weekend Day Shift Full-Time & Part-Time Available) 

  • Saturday and Sunday
  • 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Differential does not apply to day shifts

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, a valid Colorado driver’s license, and transportation are required. At least three years of law enforcement, security or military experience. Ability to safely lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds on occasion. Basic computer skills including being able to document incidents and send e-messages. Comfortable working with individuals struggling with mental health and substance use with kindness and compassion. Ability to speak Spanish desired but not required. Able to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays and different shifts. Must successfully complete background investigations and required trainings.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the VP of Process Improvement and Innovation, the Safety Officer will be responsible to:

  • Greet clients, visitors, and staff in a respectful and professional manner when they interact with them anywhere on our campus and ask if they need assistance; if so, assist as needed;
  • Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises;
  • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling internal and external property on a regular basis and monitor surveillance equipment; inspect buildings, equipment and access points;
  •  Address loitering or disruptive behavior calmly and respectfully, with a focus on de-escalation and professionalism.
  • Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by identifying and addressing or reporting maintenance or cleanliness concerns.
  • Complete accurate and timely reports by recording observations, accurate information, occurrences.
  • Coordinate and engage in emergency response as needed, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.;
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful or emergency situations;
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, including respect for privacy and confidentiality under HIPAA.
  • Secure all exits, doors and windows after business hours of operation;
  • Agree to occasional intermittent work on unscheduled work days for agency events; and
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assist with facility safety management.
  • Transport food daily between facilities (Residential to Withdraw Management)

  • Occasional potential for physical interactions with individuals who may be physically or verbally aggressive
  • Requires occasional driving in adverse weather conditions
