THE OPPORTUNITY

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and managing the company’s safety program across all construction operations. This role ensures compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations, promotes a proactive safety culture, and works closely with field leadership to minimize risk and maintain safe job sites.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Leading and managing the company-wide safety program, including updates to the Employee Safety Manual the oversight of a company safety committee.

• Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA and others).

• Developing and implementing project-specific safety plans for residential and commercial operations.

• Conducting regular job site and facility inspections; documenting findings and enforcing corrective actions.

• Partnering with leadership and field supervisors to deliver new hire orientation and ongoing safety training.

• Facilitating daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings and toolbox talks.

• Supporting supervisors with training on safety procedures, equipment use, and incident investigations.

• Leading incident, injury, and property damage investigations; implementing corrective and preventive measures.

• Overseeing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning for high-risk activities.

• Ensuring proper use, availability, and maintenance of PPE, safety equipment, signage, and SDS documentation.

• Managing safety communications (e.g., newsletters, alerts) to reinforce accountability and awareness.

• Tracking and managing workers’ compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and OSHA recordkeeping/logs.

• Coordinate and lead safety committee meetings.

• Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

• Staying current on OSHA standards and industry best practices; implement updates as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability to support field communication

• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), CSP, or similar certification

• Formal education or certification in Safety, Risk Management, or related field

• 3+ years of directly applicable construction safety experience

• Experience supporting or managing safety programs in the construction industry

• OSHA 30 certification and strong knowledge of OSHA regulations

• Understanding of construction methods, equipment, and job site hazards

• Ability to train, influence, and enforce safe work practices across all levels of the organization

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

• Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and in the field

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• May be expected to travel out of town to work on project sites or meet with customers.

• May usually work irregular hours and often work early mornings and during weekends and may also do shift work and be on call. Generally, work longer hours in summer.

• Work in an office and field environment whereas the weather conditions may be noisy, wet, cold, dirty and dusty.

• While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly be required to reach with hands and arms and frequently be required to stand; talk or hear; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.

• You will occasionally be required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• You will be required to have specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

• You may at times lift and/or move up to 50 to 100 pounds
