Job Description

We are looking for a project manager responsible for onboarding customers onto our software.   Our well-documented implementation methodology takes customers through five phases: kick-off, assessment, implementation, delivery, and launch. Our product, built with an architecture that allows us to deploy to production 20-30 times per day, allows us to meet customer needs quickly.

To deploy customers, your primary focus will be managing an implementation team, including an implementation consultant, data engineer, and configuration specialist.  Through discovery sessions, your team will understand customers’ needs and configure the software to support their business processes.  Then, you will be responsible for enabling customer testing, training, and acceptance prior to celebrating their go-live!

We want our project managers to invoke customers’ joy by delivering on time and exceeding expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Executing the implementation methodology to ensure timely delivery
  • Effectively communicating project expectations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitating customer meetings and communicating with sales, engineering, support, and product teams
  • Assuring the quality of configuration, customization, and data migration  through deployment
  • Providing input to the product team and setting feature readiness expectations with customers based on the product roadmap
  • Managing risks and escalating issues
  • Consulting on new hires and providing feedback on the capabilities of potential applicants
  • Working with junior team members in a mentorship capacity
  • Staying abreast of and applying project management best practices
Skills and Qualifications

So - is this job right for you?

For you - the ideal candidate - the answer is an easy one:

  • You hate the idea of missing client expectations; you value under-promising and over-delivering
  • You relish the opportunity to deploy customers on the latest technologies
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You have experience managing software development or implementation projects
  • You engender trust from your team and our customers
  • You want the freedom to innovate and influence the implementation methodology
  • You  want to work in a fast-paced environment where the engineering team can deploy to production in minutes without a two-week-long sprint process
  • You envision yourself as the voice of the customer and advocate for your projects’ priorities
  • You like working with customers and creating customer joy through your work
  • A slow, steady smile has spread across your face as you’ve been reading this

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Understanding of the project management areas of competency, procedures, and methodology.
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • BS degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Technology (IT), Business, education, or a related discipline
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
