We’re looking for a Robotics & Automation Engineering Consultant to support our venture team as we explore and validate automation opportunities. In this role, you will advise our venture team to help identify pain points, evaluate automation feasibility, and inform the development of a new B2B SaaS solution designed to improve manufacturing workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Advise on the design and feasibility of opportunities in the manufacturing robotics space; specifically automated welding, painting and grinding robotics operations
- Provide guidance on robot selection, tooling, reach, tolerances, and process constraints
- Evaluate automation feasibility for real manufacturing workflows
- Help assess integration complexity for sensors, vision systems, and PLC controls
- Provide perspective on vendor tradeoffs across robotics platforms (e.g., FANUC, ABB)
- Help determine cost vs. ROI of automation opportunities
Ideal Background
- Experience designing, programming, or integrating robotic welding cells or automated manufacturing systems
- Hands-on experience with industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, or similar)
- Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and industrial automation architecture
- Experience integrating sensors, vision systems, or other automation technologies into production workflows
- Time spent commissioning or troubleshooting automation systems on the plant floor
