San Luis Valley Health is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse to join our Infusion team. This position will provide nursing care to all patients, ensuring adequate care and nursing standards are met. 


What you’ll need:    

  • At minimum, Associates degree in nursing. However, BSN is preferred  
  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license  
  • Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association  
  • Computer experience required secondary to the electronic medical record  
  • One year of med/surgical experience preferred.  
  • Certified in administering chemotherapy medications within six months of hire date.    

 What you’ll do:   

  • Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.  
  • Responsible for assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to accepted nursing and hospital standards of care relevant to acute care nursing.  
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.  
  • Knowledgeable with safe handling and administering chemotherapy agents on a daily basis.    
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of patients.   
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.   
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents   
  • Responds to all situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.   
  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.  
  • Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
