Conejos County Hospital is seeking compassionate, confident Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department team. We are currently hiring a Full-Time Night Shift Emergency Department RN to help provide exceptional care in our rural Critical Access Hospital.

What You'll Need:   

  • At minimum, Associates degree in nursing. BSN is preferred.  
  • Current active Colorado Registered Nurse license.   
  • Previous Critical Access Hospital or rural emergency nursing experience preferred.
  • Trauma and emergency care experience preferred.
  • At minimum, current AHA and BLS Certification, required upon hire.
  • Emergency Department Requirements: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)


What You'll Do: 

  • Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions.
  • Deliver evidence-based emergency nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Stabilize trauma and critically ill patients utilizing advanced assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency Department providers, EMS, respiratory therapy, laboratory, radiology, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, conscious sedation, and life-saving interventions.
  • Administer medications, blood products, IV therapy, and emergency treatments safely and accurately.
  • Monitor, reassess, and document patient responses throughout their emergency department stay.
  • Coordinate transfers to higher levels of care when appropriate.
  • Maintain a calm, compassionate presence while delivering exceptional patient- and family-centered care.
  • Support quality improvement, trauma readiness, patient safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice.
