Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Marketing Database Administrator (MDBA) to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust database solutions that drive key business initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database management systems along with the analytical mindset to uncover insights from complex data sets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly marketing and business stakeholders, to ensure data availability, performance, scalability, and security while enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management & Optimization
- Administer, maintain, and optimize relational and non-relational databases.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, security, and reliability issues.
- Plan, install, and upgrade database systems and software to enhance performance.
- Develop and enforce database standards, procedures, and best practices.
Data Strategy & Architecture
- Design and implement scalable data models, pipelines, and storage strategies aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with developers and data teams to integrate databases into applications and analytics platforms.
- Identify and address database capacity, scalability, and availability concerns.
Security & Governance
- Define and manage user access controls and security protocols to safeguard data.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
Data Analytics & Business Insight Support
- Partner with marketing and analytics teams to support campaign measurement, segmentation, and customer profiling.
- Conduct complex data analysis to uncover trends, performance patterns, and optimization opportunities.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports for communicating insights to business users.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison between IT, marketing, product, and analytics teams to identify data needs and recommend solutions.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize marketing effectiveness and overall business performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in database administration, data engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL database platforms.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
- Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.
