About Us
Our mission is to raise AGI with the richness of human intelligence — curious, witty, imaginative, and full of unexpected brilliance.
Surge was founded by engineers and researchers who dreamed of building the next generation of AI. Our platform powers the most capable models in the world, in partnership with companies like Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and Meta. We've run a profitable business from day one without raising venture funding.
The Role
We're hiring recruiters. You’ll flex across the company’s hiring needs, moving between searches across engineering, research, product, and partnerships. We’re hiring for extremely high bars across tech and non-tech. You should be able to identify the best people in the market, understand what makes them exceptional and make judgment calls without relying on a checklist. We don't have coordinators or approval layers, so scheduling, follow-ups, offer details, all of that is you.
That's the trade here: a lot of freedom in how you work, and a high bar for the work itself.
What You'll Do
Full-cycle searches, technical and non-technical: sourcing, screens, scheduling, closing.
Own your searches end to end. Run your desk from intake to close with autonomy and urgency.
Source creatively and relentlessly. The best candidates often aren’t applying. You’ll figure out where they are, how to find them, and how to get their attention.
Work directly with hiring managers. Shape the role with them, and tell them when the spec doesn't match the market.
Fix things in our process that slow you down.
What We're Looking For
You've closed strong candidates in competitive markets. Technical recruiting experience is a big plus.
You're fine with little structure or direction.
You write well. Candidates notice.
You can run several searches at once and move with urgency all the time. Great candidates move fast, and so do we.
