Micron's SSD RMA Failure Analysis team is focused on identifying and resolving product failures to improve quality and customer satisfaction. The team works closely with engineering and manufacturing partners to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement across data center SSD products.

This position partners with engineers to complete RMA analysis, maintain lab operations, and ensure high-quality standards across testing and repair processes.

Position Overview:
The Quality Technician - SSD RMA Failure Analysis role is a hands-on lab position supporting failure analysis, board-level rework, and SSD debug activities. This position partners with engineers to complete RMA analysis, maintain lab operations, and ensure high-quality standards across testing and repair processes.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and prepare returned SSD products for failure analysis and testing
- Implement ATE testing, preconditioning, and bench-level debug to isolate failing components
- Perform board-level diagnostics including log extraction, failure reproduction, and root cause support
- Conduct PCB rework including BGA removal, re-balling, and component replacement
- Maintain lab equipment, calibration, inventory, and ensure compliance with audit and safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-3+ years of hands-on experience in PCB rework, soldering, or hardware test environments
- Proven ability to perform debugging and failure analysis and interpret test data for root cause identification
- Proficiency with lab and test equipment and ability to document technical findings accurately
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills supporting multiple lab and test activities
- Effective communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ATE systems, firmware testing, or SSD failure analysis workflows
- Background in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or data storage environments
- Familiarity with quality systems, audits, and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of ESD, 6S, and lab safety compliance practices
- Experience mentoring or training technicians on lab processes and equipment usage
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to increase efficiency.
