What you will do:  

The Quality Engineer I will perform several selective types of inspection events, complete and maintain related documentation, and assist in implementing an inspection process using a continuous improvement approach.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Perform several types of inspections, including incoming, first article inspections (FAI), in-process assembly, and special inspection requests from quality or engineering
  • Assist with supplier compliance requirement activities, including supplier communication and supplier corrective action request processing 
  • Perform analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting for non-conforming parts and vendor rework parts 
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss print interpretation, intent, criticality of a dimension, and measurement technique as necessary 
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment 
  • Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, and quality systems 
  • Assist Warehouse team with inspections and allocating staging and inventory storage areas as needed 
  • Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

What we need you to bring to the team:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or related OR equivalent years of experience in industry 
  • Inspection tool experience – calipers, gauge pins, micrometers, height gauge, CMM, Vision systems
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles 
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings & diagrams 
  • Basic understanding and application of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups 
  • Ability to adapt to multiple and/or changing projects simultaneously and possess the ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)  
  • Basic organizational and time management skills 
  • Experience with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint 

What we want you to bring to the team:   

  • 1+ years of industry experience working in a quality role in a manufacturing environment (excludes internships, co-ops, and other school projects)  
  • Experience with QMS software (uniPoint, QT9, Arena, etc.) 
  • Experience with compiling statistical data (JMP, Minitab, Alteryx, etc.) 
  • Quality System Standards experience (9001, 13485, IATF16949, AS9100, 21 CFR 820, 14 CFR – any subsection) 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as needed 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills  

Compensation:   

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $70,000 - $76,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
