QA Team Lead / ManagerFull-Time | Houston, TX / Remote
ProScore.ai is building technology that makes workforce compliance easier, smarter, and more reliable for highly regulated industries. Our platform supports some of the largest construction organizations in the world, helping them manage complex compliance requirements, reduce risk, and stay prepared for audits.
When compliance, regulatory exposure, and customer trust are on the line, software quality matters.
Our engineering team is collaborative, practical, and focused on building products that perform in the real world. We're looking for an experienced QA Team Lead / Manager who can bring that same mindset to our quality organization, someone who enjoys leading people while still staying close to the technology.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership.
You'll lead a team of 3–5 QA Engineers and take responsibility for quality across ProScore's features and releases. You'll guide testing strategy, improve processes, strengthen automation, manage team priorities, and partner directly with Product and Engineering throughout the development lifecycle.
Most importantly, QA isn't viewed as the final checkpoint at ProScore. You'll have a seat at the table, helping identify risks, challenge assumptions, improve requirements, and influence how we build software before it reaches production.
We're looking for someone who knows how to balance speed with precision, develop strong QA talent, and confidently answer one important question:
Are we ready to release?
Lead Quality Strategy
Own and continuously improve our overall testing approach across functional, regression, integration, API, automation, and edge-case testing.
Manage and mentor a team of 3–5 QA Engineers. Set priorities, balance workloads, provide technical guidance, and create an environment where engineers can grow and do their best work.
Take ownership of QA sign-off and deployment readiness. Evaluate test results, outstanding defects, acceptance criteria, and overall risk to make clear, data-driven go/no-go recommendations.
Bring QA into the conversation early. Participate in sprint planning, review requirements for testability, identify potential gaps, and raise quality concerns before development is complete.
Establish a high standard for actionable defect reporting, including clear reproduction steps, logs, network payloads, environmental details, and supporting evidence that helps Engineering move quickly.
Continuously evaluate the regression suite to ensure it reflects the current product. Add coverage where it creates value and retire outdated tests so the suite remains efficient, relevant, and trustworthy.
Help shape and scale our automation strategy, with a focus on Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript. Ensure automation provides meaningful, maintainable coverage rather than simply increasing test counts.
Serve as a trusted voice on product quality. Translate technical testing results, defects, and release risks into clear information that Product, Engineering, and business leadership can act on.
Compliance software requires a different level of precision. You'll help create testing processes, documentation, logging, and traceability that can stand up to both internal scrutiny and external audit requirements.
QA Leadership & Experience
5–10 years of hands-on Quality Assurance experience
At least 2 years of experience leading or managing QA/engineering teams
Proven experience owning test planning, strategy, execution, and release readiness
Experience building, developing, or scaling QA teams and processes
Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, API, and risk-based testing
Experience working closely with Product and Engineering in Agile/Scrum environments
Ability to lead while remaining technically involved when needed
We're looking for someone comfortable working within a modern QA environment, including:
Playwright strongly preferred
Cypress and/or Selenium
TypeScript / JavaScript
API testing and Postman
Network payloads, logs, and API traces
Jira and test management platforms such as TestRail
CI/CD environments including Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions
SQL or database validation experience is a plus
New Relic or similar application performance monitoring tools
You don't need to have worked with every tool in our stack. Strong fundamentals, technical curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly matter just as much.
Experience within a regulated, compliance-driven, or high-risk software environment is especially valuable.
That may include:
FinTech
HealthTech
InsurTech
LegalTech
Construction technology
Workforce or payroll compliance
Other regulated SaaS environments
Familiarity with SOC 2, audit requirements, data integrity, traceability matrices, security/privacy considerations, or auditable test documentation is a strong plus.
Playwright | Cypress | Selenium | TypeScript/JavaScript | Java | Postman | Jira | TestRail | Jenkins | GitHub Actions | New Relic
Your Work Has Real Impact
We're solving complex compliance challenges where accuracy matters. The software your team validates helps organizations manage regulatory requirements, protect their businesses, and make better decisions.
This isn't a QA function sitting at the end of the development process. You'll help define what quality looks like at ProScore and have the authority to influence how and when we release software.
We already have experienced people and processes in place, but we're still growing. You'll have the opportunity to improve our QA organization, strengthen automation, develop the team, and help establish practices that can scale with the company.
Our Engineering and Product teams understand that QA isn't simply about finding bugs — it's about building better software. You'll work alongside people who value thoughtful testing, strong communication, accountability, and continuous improvement.
We're established enough that you won't be walking into chaos, but we're still early enough that your ideas can have a lasting impact.
If you're a QA leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, staying technically engaged, and taking real ownership of software quality, we'd love to hear from you.
