Property Accountant

A Property Accountant who will manage the rent and service charge accounting function for our Denver office, ensuring the smooth running of billing tenants and producing monthly accounts.
You will play a vital role in managing the financial operations of our Denver office. Your key responsibilities will include accurately recording all financial transactions in the accounting ledger, adhering to double-entry bookkeeping principles, and reconciling cash accounts.
You will calculate the annual service charge in accordance with tenant lease agreements and issuing monthly rental invoices to tenants and proactively following up late payments. You will build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, addressing their financial queries, and collaborating with internal stakeholders, with till ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and internal control procedures.
The salary range for this role $55,000 - $75,000 annually and is eligible for inclusion in our annual bonus program.

Preferred skills and experience

• Proven experience in a similar property accounting role.
• Full understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles and competent in the production of monthly accounts.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting software packages such as Yardi or Infor.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and pivot tables.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively.
• Experience working with lease agreements and service charge calculations.
• Proactive and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Committed to accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
