The Project Scheduler supports the Project Manager in overseeing the planning and scheduling of engineering design and supply projects by gathering and analyzing project information. Uses analytical reports and understanding of the project and coordination with the project team to set and monitor schedules. Ensures the scheduling of work follows company policy and the contractual requirement of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Create, monitor and analyze project schedules in accordance with the standard of best practice and as required by the project contract documents.
  • Creating, monitoring, analyzing and revising a level 4, resource loaded, Critical Data Method (CDM) schedule.
  • Track, analyze and report information appropriately to allow the project teams to manage their projects and elevate weekly reports.
  • Ensure accuracy of project schedules, task, meeting updates, and efficient distribution of reports.
  • Coordinate project schedules, task, meeting updates, and efficient distribution reports.
  • Prepare, implement and monitor scopes of work using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for control and integrity.
  • Monitor projects’ progress, including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved data.
  • Track baselines, perform what-if-analysis, coordinate with project management and project controlling to develop contingency plans.
  • Perform coordination of cross-functional departments to identify project issues, monitor action items and work with the project Manager to ensure resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) with specialized course work in business and two (2) to five (5) years of project relates scheduling experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Advanced proficiency in Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project.

Proficient in MS Office.

Knowledge of mining and /or bulk material handling industries

Knowledge - Must have advanced proficiency in Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook Calendar, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Must be proficient in coordinating and management of basic office systems. Knowledge and skill in working with modern office terminology, procedures, equipment, and records management.

Knowledge of research methods and techniques, general math, and English composition.
Skills - Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Continual attention to detail in composing communications, data entry of project information, proofing of data, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.  Operating modern office equipment and effective oral and written communication are critical skills for this role.
