Job Description

AECOM is seeking a part-time Project Information Specialist to support our Mining EOR / Copper team. This position will provide project information and document management support for multidisciplinary engineering and design projects within the mining and minerals sector.

This role will be responsible for maintaining accuracy, organization, accessibility, and control of engineering and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, design, project management, and project controls teams to support established document management processes, project deliverables, and information requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, apply advanced project information management and document control skills to support engineering and design projects within the Mining EOR / Moly business unit.
  • Maintain, organize, and control engineering and project documentation within enterprise content/document management systems, ensuring appropriate naming, classification, revision control, distribution, and retention.
  • Coordinate the receipt, review, processing, distribution, and tracking of engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, technical reports, correspondence, and other project records.
  • Generate and maintain document registers, status reports, transmittals, workflows, and other project information reports to support engineering and project management teams.
  • Identify and resolve document and information management issues using established procedures and advanced techniques while ensuring compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and independently complete assigned project information management activities in accordance with project schedules and deliverable requirements.
  • Support or lead assigned document management processes and provide guidance, training, and quality checks for junior project information or document control personnel as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing project information management or document control support for engineering, mining, heavy industrial, infrastructure, or EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Experience managing engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, calculations, technical reports, vendor documents, submittals, and project correspondence.
  • Experience with enterprise content and document management systems such as Microsoft SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bentley ProjectWise, Aconex, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of engineering document workflows, revision control, document numbering, metadata, transmittals, and records management practices.
  • Experience developing and maintaining document registers, reports, dashboards, and project information tracking tools.
  • Ability to coordinate document and information requirements across multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, project managers, and other project stakeholders.
