The Project Development Manager will lead the strategic planning and development of midstream growth opportunities. This role provides line leadership for Midstream Development opportunities, as well as broader functional leadership for project development excellence.  This role is responsible for overseeing the front end of the project lifecycle, from initial concept through to final investment decision (FID), ensuring opportunities are developed with budgets and schedules that can be delivered upon by the Midstream Asset Development team.   In particular, the role is accountable for full value chain assurance, planning and delivery of Concept & Plan deliverables, while ensuring that all offramps are appropriately identified and optionality maintained.  This role will also be responsible for ensuring any partnership that is created will be integrated seamlessly with the project team. 


The Project Development Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Opportunity Planning and Development: Lead the evaluation and development of new midstream opportunities and ensure all deliverables, milestones, and resources are aligned with scope of work.  Works with the Asset Development Team to develop, communicate and formalize project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, customers, and partners.
  • Technology: Utilizes Salesforce for all financial approvals, workorders, contractual agreements, and resourcing within EQT’s strategic resourcing and contracting framework.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks. Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure project success.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Financial Management: Oversee opportunity budget development and financial forecasting. Ensure projects are financially viable and meet organizational goals.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate opportunity documentation and provide monthly updates to senior leadership on project progress and challenges leading up to the FID.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective communication and strong organizational alignment across the company.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in project development within the midstream gas sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.

Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states:  California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
