The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting WellSky's Authorization Management program. This role serves as a central point of contact between hospital clients, payers, physicians, and clinical reviewers to ensure authorization requests are processed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate authorization requests from intake through final payer determination
- Assign cases to clinical reviewers and monitor progress through completion
- Submit authorization requests and supporting documentation to payers
- Answer inbound calls and provide front-line support for the team
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all information is documented appropriately
- Support process improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare or healthcare operations environment
- LPN, Medical Assistant (MA), or other clinical licensure/certification preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Customer service experience
Job Expectations:
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
- Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
- Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
