About the roleWe are looking for a Head of UX/UI Design (Engineer) who will take full ownership and final responsibility for UI/UX quality across the entire product.
This is a senior, high-impact role for an exceptional specialist. You will be the main authority on UI/UX, responsible for ensuring that every interface, flow, and interaction shipped to production is clear, modern, intuitive, and aligned with best UX practices.
All UI/UX-related changes must be reviewed and approved by you before release. You are fully accountable for the UX that reaches users.
In this role, UX in this role is created directly in code. Instead of producing static mockups, you will assemble and demonstrate your design solutions using Tailwind and existing UI components, collaborating closely with Product, CRO, and Engineering to turn ideas into production-ready UX solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinal UI/UX Ownership
Act as the final decision-maker for all UI/UX changes across the product. Nothing related to UI/UX goes to production without your approval.
Code-First UX Design & Implementation
Build and demonstrate UX solutions directly in code using Tailwind and reusable UI components. You are expected to independently assemble layouts, states, and flows in a structured way to clearly communicate your design decisions to the team.
Exceptional UI Quality & Clarity
Deliver clean, modern, minimalistic, and intuitive interfaces that follow UX best practices and reduce cognitive load for users. Every element must serve a clear purpose.
UX Ideation & Product Contribution
Generate and develop UX ideas aimed at improving usability, clarity, engagement, and overall product value.
UX Flow & Interaction Design
Define and refine user flows, screen logic, interactions, and states to ensure a smooth and predictable user experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product Managers, CRO Managers, and Engineers to translate hypotheses into clear, testable, and scalable UX solutions.
UX Quality Control
Ensure UX implementation is consistent, well-structured, and requires minimal rework after release.
Highly senior Product UI/UX Designer / UX Engineer with a deep understanding of both UI and UX.
Practical ability to write frontend code at least at a junior level. You must be comfortable assembling full pages and flows using Tailwind and component-based systems without relying on designers or mockups.
Solid experience with Tailwind CSS and component-based UI systems.
Strong product thinking: you understand how UX decisions affect user behavior, retention, and value.
Experience with subscription-based or performance-driven products is a strong plus.
Able to work effectively in a high-pressure, high-expectation environment.
Confident in taking responsibility for final decisions and outcomes.
Clear, structured communicator.
Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours.
