As a Senior Business Analyst (Product Owner), you'll design processes and project implementations and diagnose process improvement opportunities as you develop innovative solutions that will affect millions. In this role you will represent the voice of the business by performing research, design, and development and translating complex business requirements into actionable features and changes/updates to the ATS (Appeals Tracking System). This is a cross-functional liaison role that reviews requirements and performance against expectations and coordinates/facilitates or influences changes to product to achieve optimal performance. You will work with internal and external business partners to recommend future direction, respond to inquiries, and ensure alignment to business goals.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Capture, analyze, organize, and prioritize business requirements for moderately complex projects
  • Documents and translates business requirements into features and the development of user stories
  • Collaborates with System Analysts to identify solutions to meet business requirements
  • Provide explanations and information to Agile teams, stakeholders, managers
  • Prepares and presents information to leadership for next steps and decision making
  • Actively participate in Agile team processes and help implement process changes related to Agile
  • Represents business interests and requirements on the scrum teams
  • Lead, Build and maintain a backlog/inventory of system and business requirements to quickly react to additional enhancement capacity
  • Provides direction to business analysts and IT resources within the Agile team to ensure highest value is delivered

While you're busy helping us change the landscape of health care, you've got to be able to quickly adapt to change in a fluid environment. It's all about communication, quality reporting, analysis and audits and developing plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement. You'll also be challenged to gain buy-in from multiple stakeholders before presenting solutions to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with implementing software or from ideation / requirements through to successful delivery
  • Proven experience in managing projects from ideation to post-deployment, demonstrating solid project management skills and the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and evaluating requirements, and writing and translating business requirements
  • Demonstrated success as a Product Owner or in a similar role, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes and driving business value

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean process improvement or six sigma qualifications / experience
  • Experience in capturing requirements, effectively documenting and communicating complex processes using the Given-When-Then (GWT) format
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience of managing business partners in a matrix organization
  • Experience working directly with senior level business stakeholders
  • Agile Methodologies: Solid understanding and application of Agile methodologies in a complex and fast-paced environment. Experience using Aha, Rally, Jira, or similar tools for project management and issue tracking

Soft Skills:
  • Solid working knowledge of how to execute on project deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, showing adaptability, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making at all organizational levels
  • Ability to develop solid networks and ensure collaboration and consensus building
  • An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
