How you'll make an impact:
 
The Product Owner is the voice of the customer between the Product team and the Engineering team, focusing primarily on the feasibility of the business requirements. This role bridges the gap between business requirements and technical execution and ensures that solutions deliver intelligent, value-adding capabilities to customers and partners. The role is a champion for the processes that we use to deliver product enhancements to our customers, with a clear focus on the Product Owner responsibilities.

The Product Owner, together with the Product Manager, is responsible for defining, preparing and prioritizing the work generated for the development team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, differentiated software. In collaboration with the Engineering team, the Product Owner drives the software delivery lifecycle, to ensure fast and predictable delivery. The role owns, maximizing the value delivered by the engineering team by managing the backlog at a detailed level.
 

What you'll do:

  • Translate customer, service & solution partner requirements and business workflows (defined together with the Product Manager) into detailed technical specifications for the development team to execute on our integrations and public APIs.
  • Technical Feasibility Assessment: Investigate and document the technical aspects of changes introduced by 3rd parties (strategic & platform partners) that we integrate with and its impact on our connections and public APIs.
  • Product Backlog Management: Own and maintain the team's product backlog, including creating, refining, and prioritizing support requests, user stories, epics, and tasks based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer/partner feedback.
  • Requirements Elicitation and Definition: Actively works alongside the Product Managers and engages with customers, service & solution partners and internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, Onboarding) to elicit and clearly define business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyzing AI-generated insights to guide the direction of enhancements to our integrations and public APIs.
  • Development Team Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for the development team, answering questions, clarifying requirements, and providing necessary technical and business context during sprints to ensure efficient execution. Champions planning, refinement, demos & retros.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with the Product Team members to manage expectations and communicate product roadmap prioritization, and release status to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Acceptance and Quality Assurance: Together with QA define acceptance tests for execution to ensure that completed features meet the specified requirements and maintain a high standard of quality and performance.
  • Go-to-Market Support: Collaborate with Product Marketing and documentation teams to ensure successful feature launches, including training internal teams and presenting product demos to internal stakeholders, customers and partners.
  • Process & Data Modeling: Develop, document, and maintain process and data models for integrations and public APIs to support clear requirements and prevent the perpetuation of poor business practices.
  • Data Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the Security team to ensure that all API integrations adhere to company data security standards and platform-specific compliance requirements.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience: 3+ years experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably focused on SaaS platforms, APIs, or system integrations.
  • Agile Expertise: Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and the tools used to manage backlogs (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating business requirements into clear epics, user stories and communicating effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical Thinking: Highly analytical, with the proven ability to develop flow diagrams, process maps, and data models to support requirements documentation.
  • Customer & Partner Focus: A strong understanding of customer needs and business processes, with a natural curiosity and high level of compassion for solving customer and partner problems.
  • Problem-Solving & Bias for Action: Proven ability to work cross-functionally to drive solutions, prioritize competing needs, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. A self-motivated teammate with a bias for action.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong technical knowledge and understanding of APIs (REST/GQL), web services, data structures, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with the ability to converse fluently with engineers regarding technical feasibility and implementation details. Understands system behavior, constraints, interfaces, and architectural decisions enough to make informed trade-off decisions.
  • Education: Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent industry experience.
