Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in product ownership or a similar role
  • High degree of organizational skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills with both clients and internal teammates
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to inspire and influence members of the product and development team
  • Willingness to take initiative and innovate on existing products and processes
  • Enjoys collaboration and has a team mindset
  • Agency experience and scrum certification a plus

Product Owner Responsibilities

  • Amplify the voice of the client as well as offer interpretation of client needs
  • Work with clients to analyze business needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
  • Research and analyze the client's market, product users, and the roadmap for the project
  • Identify and write epics, features, and user stories
  • Define backlog items that guide the agile development teams
  • Continually learn with the team through collaboration
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product
  • Participate in technical conversations surrounding application products with members of the development team
  • Lead story workshop sessions
  • Write acceptance criteria for user stories during sprint planning
  • Be ready to make product-related decisions and be accountable for those decisions
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on tasks that are aligned with product strategy
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Determine timeframes for completion of backlog items, ensuring alignment with the product’s overall strategy
  • Write and maintain user documentation for products
  • Be the primary contact for questions related to the product
  • Develop detailed specifications for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development team
  • Work in alignment with agile practices as well as learn and grow in your understanding of agile project management
