OVERVIEW:
Welcome to Product Management at DICK'S Sporting Goods, where we specialize in delivering retail excellence along every aspect of the Athlete journey. Our mission focuses on crafting intuitive, easy-to-use products that span across our business, while protecting the trust Athletes place in our digital and omni-channel experiences.
As a Product Manager II supporting Digital Fraud, you will help safeguard Athletes and orders by proactively detecting, preventing, and responding to fraudulent activity across digital channels while enabling seamless and trusted shopping experiences. You will partner closely with Business Partners, Engineering and Architecture across Digital Loss Prevention, Payments, eCommerce, Mobile App, Stores, Treasury, Sales Audit, Cyber Security, and Loyalty. This role will manage the product ecosystem, inclusive of third-party vendors, to balance fraud prevention, conversion, customer experience, operational efficiency, and platform resiliency.
This role is accountable for shaping and delivering Digital Fraud capabilities across the order lifecycle, from account and device signals through pre-authorization risk checks, post-order fraud review, fulfillment, reship/refund monitoring, chargeback management, and continuous rule and signal optimization.
What You Will Own in Digital Fraud
Define and maintain a Digital Fraud product roadmap that aligns to business outcomes, portfolio priorities, fraud-risk reduction, conversion protection, and trusted Athlete experiences.
Lead discovery and solutioning for fraud capabilities such as pre-authorization fraud checks, post-order decisioning, device fingerprinting, reject/recycle, chargeback automation, fraud data foundations, and fraud lifecycle improvements.
Translate business needs from Digital Loss Prevention, Payments, eCommerce, Mobile App, Treasury, Sales Audit, Store Ops, Loyalty, and other partners into clear product outcomes, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
Own KPI definition and measurement for the product domain, including fraud loss, cancel and chargeback trends, accept/reject/manual-review performance, demand-to-fulfillment impact, SLA/SLO considerations, false positives, operational friction, and customer experience impacts.
Partner with other Product Managers, Engineering, Architecture, Data Product, Analytics, and Reliability partners to improve observability, monitoring, automated testing, system resiliency, and data-driven decisioning.
Collaborate with vendors and internal platform teams to evaluate, pilot, implement, and continuously optimize fraud and risk capabilities while managing dependencies, contracts, and delivery risks.
Design and evaluate controlled experiments, A/B tests, and phased rollouts to measure fraud performance, conversion impacts, and operational outcomes.
Improve upstream engagement so Digital Fraud is included early in planning for new experiences, payment methods, loyalty programs, fulfillment changes, and AI/agentic commerce opportunities.
Evaluate and support machine learning, behavioral analytics, and AI-driven fraud detection capabilities while balancing explainability, governance, and customer experience.
Monitor fraud, retail, digital commerce, and payment trends to proactively identify emerging risk patterns and shape product strategy before issues become reactive operational escalations.
Monitor emerging fraud vectors including account takeover, promotion abuse, synthetic identities, bot attacks, and credential stuffing.
Participate in fraud-related incident response, major issue management, and post-incident reviews. Help drive corrective actions following production incidents, fraud spikes, chargeback events, or vendor service disruptions.

Product Strategy
You will define and evolve a roadmap for Digital Fraud in close collaboration with technology peers, Digital Loss Prevention, Payments, eCommerce, Cart & Checkout, Mobile, Athlete Order, Treasury, Sales Audit, Security, and other stakeholders. The roadmap should be outcome-based and grounded in the voice of the product, balancing fraud protection, athlete trust, conversion, operational impact, and platform resiliency.
In this space, strategy requires thinking across the full fraud lifecycle: account creation and monitoring, device and identity signals, pre-authorization checks, bank/payment response, post-purchase fraud review, reject/recycle, fulfillment, returns, reships, chargebacks, and loss prevention operations.
Data-Driven Decisions
You will establish metrics and measurements for the Digital Fraud product domain to report on value delivered and inform roadmap prioritization. You will use leading and lagging indicators such as fraud loss, chargebacks, manual review rate, cancel trends, order volume, accept/reject/review mix, false positives, SLA/SLO impacts, demand-to-fulfillment outcomes, and operational workload to guide product iteration and trade-off decisions.
You will partner with Data Product, Analytics, Engineering, Digital LP, and business stakeholders to improve data quality, reporting, root-cause analysis, and proactive trend identification so Digital Fraud can move from reactive issue response toward proactive risk monitoring and prevention.
Testing and Research
Lean experimentation is a core value within a product team. You will aid in the formulation of hypotheses and coordinate pilots, proofs of concept, prototypes, vendor evaluations, and research that validate whether new fraud capabilities reduce business risk while preserving athlete conversion and experience.
Examples include evaluating device fingerprinting, pre-authorization fraud checks, secondary fraud review, reject/recycle flows, chargeback automation, and enhanced order or athlete signals before scaling implementation.
Delivery
Part of the job is to manage the backlog. You will create effective user stories, lead backlog prioritization and management, validate delivery with engineers, perform product testing, ensure acceptance criteria are met, capture bugs, and work toward defect resolution.
Digital Fraud delivery requires strong dependency management across payment processing, order placement, fulfillment, loyalty, customer service communications, Digital LP workflows, vendor integrations, and peak-season operational readiness. You will create and communicate release plans, risk assessments, go/no-go criteria, production validation plans, and operational readiness details for changes that affect fraud decisioning or athlete order flow.
Team Collaboration
Working as a team is essential for success. You will actively participate in standups, planning sessions, demos, retrospectives, stakeholder touchpoints, monthly portfolio or business syncs, and vendor discussions. You will act as a translator between business risk, operational workflows, technology constraints, fraud controls, analytics, and athlete experience outcomes.
