Principal Technical Program Manager - Windows Commercial Acceleration Engine Insights
Microsoft’s Windows Commercial Acceleration Engine connects three integrated motions: identifying where intervention matters most, proving value through hands-on customer and engineering engagements, and scaling successful outcomes through reusable solutions, Microsoft programs, and the partner ecosystem.
Windows Commercial Accelerate is building an early-signal capability to detect customer friction, risk, and opportunity before it surfaces through account or escalation channels.
The Principal Technical Program Manager, Windows Commercial Acceleration Engine Insights will lead this motion: widening our customer and ecosystem aperture, connecting signals across sources, and turning them into evidence-backed hypotheses that drive decisions.
Success in this role means expanding visibility across customer and ecosystem signals, consistently capturing learnings, and building an evidence-backed hypothesis backlog that surfaces risks, friction points, and opportunities earlier. The role will provide senior leaders with a clear view of what customers are saying, where signals are strong, and where additional evidence is needed to inform decisions.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Own the breadth engagement model: coverage, objectives, signal sources, and learning loops.
- Expand coverage across customer, field, partner, community, and event relationships, and close gaps where we aren’t listening.
- Build repeatable mechanisms that capture qualitative and quantitative signals consistently, so learning isn’t lost in one-off meetings or notes.
- Connect fragmented signals into early patterns, enriched with quantitative evidence from data and telemetry partners.
- Translate patterns into testable hypotheses (cohort, evidence, assumptions, confidence, open questions) and maintain a backlog that separates signal from noise.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to keep input representative of the full commercial customer base.
- Brief leaders on what we’re seeing, why it matters, how confident we are, and what evidence is still needed, enabling better decisions under uncertainty.
Qualifications

- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Track record leading complex cross-functional programs and influencing across organizations without direct authority.
- Analytical judgment: structuring ambiguous problems and finding signal in fragmented, incomplete, or inconsistent data.
- Program management fundamentals: coverage planning, prioritization, operating rhythms, and follow-through.
- Experience building repeatable engagement, feedback, or insight-capture mechanisms.
- Exceptional written communication that turns customer feedback into executive-ready insight.
- Background in commercial customer research, listening systems, community or partner programs, telemetry, or support signals.
- Experience designing early-warning or customer-health systems, including cohorts, feedback taxonomies, or insight backlogs.
