Are you a critical thinker with the ability to analyze complex business problems and design effective, efficient solutions? The Principal Solution Architect is a senior-level technical leader responsible for providing strategic direction and driving the design and implementation of innovative technology solutions to address complex business challenges. This role involves collaborating with executive leadership to gather and analyze requirements, creating robust solutions, and ensuring strategic alignment with technology platforms and standards.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for the design and implementation of innovative technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to gather, analyze, and document high-level requirements.
  • Analyze complex business problems and develop robust, innovative solutions.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of solutions with technology platforms and organizational standards.
  • Develop and review comprehensive technical documentation and solution architecture artifacts.
  • Lead and facilitate high-level design review sessions and make strategic architectural decisions.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and their strategic impact on the organization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to solution implementation.
  • Lead and oversee project planning and execution to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field. 
  • 12+ Years experience in Solution Architecture or related field.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. 
  • Expert proficiency in solution architecture principles and frameworks, and system integration and software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services.
  • Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in solution design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus among stakeholders.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise software and application development.
  • Relevant certifications [e.g., The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), AWS Certified Solutions Architect].

Essential Functions:

  • Perform desk-based computer tasks for extended periods.
  • Engage in repetitive motions, including typing on a keyboard.
  • Occasionally lift and move items up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $165,010.21 - $226,889.04. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
