Pay Range

$131,200.00-$180,400.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

The Principal Project Engineer is accountable for the management of JM's largest and most complex projects and is an expert in companywide industrial applied areas. Responsible to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure resources are used effectively, and project goals are met. Collaborates and communicates effectively with project stakeholders to ensure alignment at all stages of the project with typical budget of $40M and above, and which covers the entire process from raw material handling to product formation and subsequent packaging, storage and distribution. 

Key Objectives:

Execute investment projects according to JM’s Capital Project Process (CPP) and the requirements described below:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including management, team members, and external partners, to ensure alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality and Safety Assurance: Ensure all projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety, adhering to industry regulations and company policies.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs, identifying and mitigating any financial risks to stay within budget constraints.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, incorporating lean manufacturing principles and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment and developing team members’ skills and capabilities.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, electrical, or mechanical preferred) with 10+ years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
  • Have experience in one or more of JM’s core manufacturing areas including:  insulation products, roofing membranes, ISO board, bituminous, glass fibers, composite materials or other furnace related industries dealing with high temperature molten materials and the associated stringent equipment and process design requirements.
  • Strong project management skills for projects $40M and above, with expertise in CPP and project management processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera), and SAP (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel extensively (30%-70%) and work in typical manufacturing environments.
