Job Description:
Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our team. A candidate placed in this position will be a major contributor in the USB and Networking Applications Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market.
The candidate should have a strong knowledge of high speed communication interfaces and integrating them into larger systems. Experience with Ethernet Switches and Ethernet communication on the PHY and MAC layer is required. Experience with EtherCat, Profinet, and T1 Phys is a plus.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 10+ years of experience, or MS in Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 7.5+ years of experience
- Low level Ethernet protocols on the PHY and MAC layer up to 1 Gb speeds (10 or 25 Gb Ethernet experience a plus)
- Schematic design and review
- System design
- Familiarity with ARM, PIC microcontroller architectures and with microcontroller development/design using C and/or C++
- Strong working knowledge of hardware/software debug and Lab equipment, e.g., Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer (any protocol)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lead projects, prioritize tasks, and execute to schedules
- Comfortable interfacing with a variety of engineering groups (Design, Verification, Validation, and Production Test)
- Experience in technical training development and presentation.
- Experience in direct customer service and support.
Additional skills that are a plus, but not required:
- Experience with Linux environments
- Understanding of communication protocols for SPI, I2C, and NAND flash storage devices.
